Yeah, which why I think the most plausible explanation would be cheap MVS/CPS2 bootlegging + the fact that SvC’s a crossover are what make it popular.
In a similar, mind-boggling note, the most abundant (and maybe popular) vs. game here for the longest time was MSHvSF. X_x SvC’s popularity must be the ghost of that.

Prolly only SM Fairview has the existence of an SvC comp. Tho, that place also has great KOFXI comp.
Next time you’re here again, do please drop me a note. I can easily pass it on to top players of whatever game and I’m sure they won’t mind coming over.

I understand your sentiments, but we cannot do anything to exorcise these poor souls that play this game. Heck they even have a tourney for it! You will find most of these guys in SM Centerpoint in Manila.
MSHvsSF is THE SHIT. That’s the ONLY versus game that had regular competitive play in my first two years at the University. MvC and MvC2 were collecting dust (as they should be).
Dude…I’m sorry. If I went into an arcade and everyone was playing the worst fighting game ever created in a long time…I would complain too. That’s like running into a gaming convention where the only fighting game anyone is playing is Shaq Fu. Not that anyone would go to those things but still…
LOL, you should go to white marsh mall sometime. SvC probably makes the most money at that arcade. second would probably be mvc, but now that they just got DR that might change.
There’s hardcore SvC comp at Chinatown Fair these days…it’s quite sad, they don’t play any other game…

I have work and no car, but what games can I get comp for in Lynwood? Hypothetically I could ask a friend for a ride if I could play some decent SNK games or some oldschool SF.
Cool man. When I was at SM nobody was playing thirdstrike or XI, just Marvel and SvC, I was so pissed. Is there anyplace in metro manila to play AE, ST, or any oldschool SF2? Don’t be expecting some American top player though, I am only pretty decent at ST and fairly good at KOF.
My wet dream would’ve been KOF 98, KOF 2k2, or Neowave comp + ST or AE. Will definitely contact you next time. Unfortunately I don’t play Third Strike much and I HATE CvS2.
What do they play at Ali mall? I was playing the CPU on KOF 2k3 at Farmer’s, but my GF said “this place is seedy…” so I could tell she wanted to leave (IMO Seedy arcades are the BEST arcades), so I gave my ten tokens to this 8 year old and broke out.
