Why so much hate mail for sim?

Last night I beat an Abel in Championship Mode who came back and beat me the next time we played.

Afterwards, he sent me a message that said “Wow, exploit broken characters much?!?”

…DHALSIM???

Interesting scenario,

I played this Ryu, he had about 48k grade points, I figure he at least know what he is doing. I beat him, pretty close match, He sent me a msg saying that I was a pretty good sim player, giving me my props and that he wants to do some player matches. I 10-2 him and he ends up rage quiting and he sends me this msg, “I take back all the good things I said about you, your sorry as fuck, LMAO, you do the same shit over and over.” I mean, if your going to jump at me 3 times in a row, I will knee the shit out of you 3 times in a row,:chat:

Coming from a Rufus player, I HATE fighting Sims. At a distance, my character 'just can’t beat his. I know it’s upon me to outplay opponent when my character isn’t enough, but hell, it still sucks, and when I can’t get in, sometimes I rage. When I do get in it rocks, but I swear, when I’m out it drives me insane.

Good character, but he just makes me so angry sometimes.

I think the whole SRK Dhalsim crew would agree when I say, ‘FUCK RUFUS!!!’

Haha, honestly I know what you mean. The way you feel about trying to get IN is exactly the way I feel about trying to get OUT.

Simple fact of it is that sometimes people feel as though there is nothing they can do to force the issue against sim.
It’s much easier for them to sleep at night when they can blame you or the game and maintain their fragile ego and not admit defeat to themselves.
Maybe they don’t realise that half the game is forcing the pace the other half is reacting to what the other guy is doing.

I certainly know playing Honda that there isn’t a whole lot i can do other than try to punish a very select few sim moves and block alot.
I hate sim not the guy playing him, thats daft.

I would love fighting sim if I was a rufusplayer

Seriously? I don’t know what level you play at, but for me (played like 3 months, so still unexperienced) Gief vs Sim seems like a guessing game where I need to guess right every single time, where as Gief only needs to guess right once.

I was at a session in brooklyn last week and I was up against a rufus who thought he was real till he met my zoning masterpiece “Ryu”. So I threw a fireball, he jumps (like all good players do) I use any AA I felt appropiate dp, HK, and cr. HP. So he calls me lame and says I play like the Ryu’s on psn. So what do I do? I pick up Sim, lol. He’s going to be my new main just so I can get even “lamer”, hahaha

Can’t wait to see you again anonymous Rufus player!

I think you get hate mail for using sim because he’s mainly used as a zoning/runaway character. I think those type of characters are the most annoying and take out the fun from the video game. It’s like chasing storm in MvC2, but this is sf4, where u can win the game by HK and HP. lol.

I’m a type of guy that gives credit, to people who do awesome rushdowns, and and really entertaining combos, because that to me takes a lot more skill. But that’s just my opinion.

Personally, I hate those runaway type of players, but you gotta do what you gotta to win that EVO money, right? lol

Tell him he loses like the Rufus’ on PSN

Lol, you think you hate Dhalsim? Trust me Dhalsim has a much harder time fighting Rufus than Rufus does fighting Dhalsim.

You’re opinion is pretty fucktarded.

^ Ya, you’re right. Lately I’ve been having alot of success fighting Dhalsim. Takes a bit to get in, but fuck if he can get me off of him. Hell, I get throws, target combo ultras and hp xx GT’s for free. Had this one sim, tho who read me like a children’s book despite my pretty strong (I think) mixup game. Was actually more in awe than anger. Fuck, what do you guys do to get niggas offa you?

lol
Sim indeed can be annoying. I love to mess with people’s minds like crazy with his mix ups. The Rufus player gave me a headache, I can’t even believe I won that other round with such a low hitpoints bar. That Ultra was hot. And Vs the gief player, well, he was just plain stupid, but the cool part was when I used Yoga Tower against his Palm and ultra’d afterwards. Lol. Just watch how I keep him out of reach the entire match.

Vs Rufus (Crazy match):

Vs Balrog:

Vs Sagat (G1 Championship)

Vs Ken (Entertaining mind games at the end of round 2)

I still lose here and there against Blanka, he totally wipes me out :frowning:

so i watched only only the first video with you vs the rufus player and to tell you the truth it was terrible to watch.

  1. the only button you use the whole match is standing fierce or jumping fierce.
  2. your teleport to much and sometimes you teleport to get your self in the corner.
  3. you do not ever try to anti the rufus player when he jumps in with b strong, b roundhouse or yogablast. you just jump back or teleport bag.
those are probably the main points you should try and figure out. Remember sim is a character which you need to learn the basics with before you go advance ( you need to learn every character that you face off with to see what works)

truthfully i main sim and play rufus as my secondary since its my worst match-up. i would say probably 8-2 match up so if i ever see a sim in a tourney i just laugh and pick rufus since i know its a free win. If a rufus is complaing about a sim player then they are just terrible, but i do face justins rufus quite an amount of times and even when i have the lead, does not mean that i will win.

just get to the basics and learn your character, i can tell you sim is def the hardest character is play with. probably does not need the execution of viper but requires the reaction speed and knowledge of the game in more depth than any character.

Yea my anti air sucks, i was practicing on it today and i have to use it more often, its a matter of getting used to. thanks for the tips, i only hope to improve

yea sorry if i sounded to demanding or what not, just trying to help

you tell that to the people who play as akuma and spend the whole match throwing air fireballs all the time and jumping away.

keep away is all dhalsim has. complaining that you hate those ‘runaway types of players’ (sim players) is like complaining that everything costs money or some shit like that. deal with it.

that is probably the worst gief i have ever seen, you were leaving yourself very open to some EX palms though werent u? all those fires from midscreen im shocked u got away with it for so long.

also after watching the other vids i think you spend way too much time in the air personally and you teleport close to the enemy waaaaayyy too much as well there were a lot of instances you put yourself in very bad positions from getting trigger happy with the teleports, i think thats a lot of the reason that the rufus was able to advance on you so much is that you wernt stable on the ground. i think a sim player needs to try and hold their ground as much as they can the more often you need to switch sides with the opp is just more oppertunity to mess things up.

im no expert myself but your matches were very frantic all the time ha ha which im sure cant be doing your nerves any good either keep it simple ha ha

I got one today, the guy sent me a message saying, “Runaway is for fags!” i simply sent him a response saying, “Upset that Dhalsim gave u a hard time eh?”

Ill tell you what…playing against a Sim is VERY frustrating (for me at least.) I wouldnt go as far as to quit or send hatemail, but it doesnt surprise me at all you guys get some messages.
