But I do believe every game deserves a fair shake before it is dismissed. As I tried SF4, found it wasn’t very good in my eyes, so I dismissed it, figuring Capcom can do better. They have done better before and they will again.
This generation of so-called FG players is a lost cause because they want everything handed to them with much fanfare because they cried, whined, and bitched about it. Then when they get what they wanted, it’s not up to speed for them. Case and point: KOF XII came out as trash.

Perhaps I didn’t play it enough. I’m in Orlando, a place with a pretty much non-existent SNK/KOF scene so I’m not going to play the game by my fucking self. And yes, I actually bought XI. Played it several times and it has been collecting dust ever since. I’ll just say it flat out then, I could give two shits about SNK games. Maybe they’ll surprise me with something eventually… I’m out of this thread. Carry on.

Are you fucking kidding me? 98UM didn’t do shit for the tiers and it’s pretty much in the same situation 98 is with tiers. Yeah, it helped out a bunch of characters but it introduced even stronger characters that are too difficult to compete with.
98UM is a great game but it’s hardly balanced.

Frankly, the only character that comes to mind when I think “kinda useless” is EX Yamazaki, who is severely outclassed by the normal version. But he can still win in the right hands as he still has 80% of what made Yamazaki good in OG 98.
I just wish people would stop doing this stupid shit when it comes to KOF: Looking at the top tier as a reference to how good the rest of the cast is.
98um is what HD remix should have been even though I love HD Remix.

Yes we all know, Asia is nothing but Iori/Geese/Krauser. If tier whoring is supposed to ruin a game, then by all means Marvel is the worst game ever, but unlike Marvel, the tops in 98UM can be overcome with matchup knowledge and experience. Don’t come here downing “The top KOF” at this point in time just because you can’t beat Krauser and several others can’t beat Krauser with your favorite char.

And I found literally hundreds of them that can play KOF like a motherfucker.
I honed my skills with them, learning the game system in depth, so I wouldn’t have to whine, bitch, moan, and complain when someone picked Krauser, Geese, Iori, or any other top tier character because I’ve seen all the nasty shit they can do, up close and personal. And I still win at least 80% of my matches because I know the matchups and actually think while playing.

PEOPLE WHO CAN KEEP UP WITH GODS (needs more of these chars)
CHARACTERS THAT ARE DECENT BUT YOU’LL ONLY SEE A TEAM WITH ONE OF THESE CHARS

It’s something KoF players are used to but 2k2UM hits closest to home with closing the gaps.
