Why no iL stick love?

I built my bro an iL stick and it was nice. Only thing I didn’t like was it seemed as if some of the directions were not aligned correctly (e.g. up enaged further away than down, etc.) I even took it apart and lined up the switches, didn’t help much. I also tried putting omrons in it and they were still crooked. Must have been faulty housing. I like iL though. A custom kowal shaft and ball top would be snice.

Happ and IL parts are made for durability not precision

oh, and here is the love.

i had a brief fling with seimitsu and a kowal modded jlf, but big sloppy motions give me the s-kills.

I am interested in an IL stick, but I wonder if anybody makes panels for Horis and MadCatz that fit these things.

I believe these guys/this guy is still making panels and plexis for at least Madcatz sticks. It’s going to take some internal modification of the stick to actually fit the iL stick but at least the panel will have the appropriate mounting set-up.

Keep in mind there some modifcation you have to do to the Joystick itself to make it fit a Mad Catz and most Hori sticks.
The Hori Hrap 1, 2, 3 and EX can fit a Happ or IL joystick with out modifying the joystick shaft.

So what did the Hyper Fighting cabinets use? They don’t feel like IL competitions. Are they optical?

I personally love iL sticks and buttons. Currently im using an old MAS with a Happ/iL p360 and iL buttons. It would be cool to get my p360 or eurostick into a smaller arcade stick.

No they are still old Happ or IL buttons. Only Wico made optical buttons.
I remember the old Hyper fighting cab being completely unplayable.

The Larger odd looking blue buttons are the Wico Optical buttons.

I like that ST art, can you send me the file?

My IL sticks

I grew up w/ Happs & they were very playable at the arcades. @Darksakul dont see how you can say they were unplayable since i dont think there was even option to play w/ a jap parts. Not unless you’re talking about that one paticular cab.

Anyway, it took me a long time to get accustom to square gate sanwas. I still can’t spd consistently w/ jap parts compare to american. Anyway, american sticks are still the best for games made 2000 or earlier, the newer games where it requires constant dashing & stuff i can see why jap parts are needed. Jap buttons are way better then the american by far.

Every Hyper Fighting cab I ran into was broken, at least 3 buttons never worked, half had joystick issues.
One had one of it’s bat top stolen, and it was a Happ Joystick (must of been a hack saw blade). I don’t even know how you can even accomplish that without getting caught (that arcade ended up hiring security guards after that).

Even when I found one that isn’t violated, the controls were utter shit. I played better at home with a 3 button Sega Genesis pad.

You guys are seriously allowing nostalgia to blind you.

iL sticks work fine for newer games. I play Bison and Hakan in sf4. I can consistently do hakan’s focus attack dash normal cancels and dash normal cancels on a happ/iL p360 with absolutely no problem.

@rcaido I’ll look for the file when I get home

@Darksakul‌ do you even play fighting games?

Those slagcoin images were completely retarded. They simply put them out of their asses: posting that shit should be banned.

Dont mind Darksakul, he is just a pad player that never played much at the arcades.

Dude I use sticks for more than just fighters and Shmups.
I use a stick to play stuff like Metroid, Zelda and Final Fantasy.

You can get right out right now if you think I am some sort of pad warrior.

Only American Joysticks I like are the original Suzo 500 and the Wico (not the Happ) Perfect 360.
And they are both out of production.

I grew up playing games in the 90’s. Pretty much all there was to use was american sticks. Its all i knew how to play on, but i never fully liked it. Then around 98/99 there were acouple of games in my local arcade that had jap japanese hardware. Once i played on these the difference was amazing to me.But was only limited to acouple of games. When Tekken Tag 1 came out, thats when i spent all my free time at all the local arcades. Thats when i became acquainted with the Sanwa JLW, it was equipped on 3 of 5 cabs i would play around town. I liked it better than previous american sticks i had played on, ewgf all day. lol
While american sticks arent junk, having the freedom to choose what to use at home is great cause i can use something that feels comfortable and natural to me.
And as far as todays crowd goes, alot were never in the arcade scene so the console scene is all japanese parts.
And after playing on seimitsu parts for the longest now, its murder to find an american cab with a game you play at home, but cant perform due to the funky layout and stick. lol

-retro name drop
-shmupper
-doesnt play fighters
-nerve to call nostalgia goggles

yeah, we get it dude. keep thinking out loud.

This video would explain my view point some more but it isn’t required.

Joystick choices are like Pasta Sauces.

Some people like the regular thin watery marinara sauce,
some like the Chunky spaghetti sauce
and some like their sauce Zesty.

I don’t like thin watery joysticks, I want a joystick with a little bit of zest.

If the shoe fits, lace up the shit and take a walk.

Can they only take the iL eurostick or can they fit a p360? Im pretty interested in this.
