Why is this Website so slow?

I don’t actually know what to vote. SRK is kind of a mixed bag for me. Back on my gaming PC, I never ever have any problems, which is weird. On my iPod or weaker PC’s, low-trafficked threads with primarily text work perfectly fine. Larger threads however, with more posts and video embeds tend to lag like hell an crash altogether on my iPod, and seem more likely to produce errors in general.

Interestingly enough, refreshing the page and scrolling directly down to where I want to like/quote/post and doing it as quickly as possible produces much more consistent results than notmal browsing. Basically, the longer I idle, the more errors I get. But my gaming PC, oddly enough, has no problems with the site.

Maybe SRK should start running ads that say “Can’t run this site? Upgrade your PC today!”

The problem is that you are guys are posting instead of playing. This is all done to encourage participation in your local communities as supposed to theoryfighting all day. Remember, the more time you spend playing, the less time SRK being wonky won’t bother you.

But GD doesn’t play fighting games.

The loading is getting worse by the day.
Today I went to open tech talk to check what was new, I went and took a shower, and I came back and the page still hadn’t loaded.

they are the best hosting in my opinion and have are one of the fastest hosts available (you can look it up too if you don’t believe me). from my experience, they are very reliable with high traffic.

I’ve noticed this weird behavior with SRK (maybe just xenforo in general) when going from 1 page to another where the page will load, but hang right before the page refresh for absurdly long. If I see the page change the title and url, I just close the tab and re open it, and the page loads instantly, instead of hanging there for 15 minutes waiting for the refresh. It’s a tiresome workaround, but a workaround nonetheless.

Registered right around the time SF4 came out, and I’ve been logging on pretty much daily, not posting much, but reading to my heart’s content in fighting game discussion and GD. I was considering upgrading to Premium lately, not for the benefits, but because, if a site out there deserves the cash, it’s this one. Unfortunately, the recent server problems have made me reconsider.

If your move to the new server does indeed fix things up, though, I will definitely be plunking down the money for premium. I’ll be all over it faster than… Hm. Faster than rcaido jumps on his Asian wife. Yes, that analogy should do.

Guys, I just got a notice from Google Chrome saying content from b.localpages.com is giving this site malware.

Even fucking Google Chrome has better anti-virus software than SRK… :shake:
