I miss the good old music, games like DMC, Megaman 8, Rival Schools, CvS1, MvC1, MvsSF, etc, were enhanced by the music.
Shout outs to Shusaku Uchiyama, Masato Kouda, Tetsuya Shibata (wtf was he thinking with MvC2, he still deserves mention for all his other shit though), Masami Ueda, etc.
First off, I want you to prove this in a way that isn’t going to make a statician pull his eyes out while reading your argument.
Second off, popular opinion is NEVER evidence. Subjective opinions will always be left up to the individual, even if you could prove that most people hated them, it does in no way prove any sort of objectivity in them being bad.
who said that it was objective, i said that it was the general concensus, i knmopw that general opinion is not proove of objectivity
and please stop trying to argue about how subjective is talk about music, we already know it, you are arguing for the sake of doing it
Why? Because people you associate with all agree? It is to be expected that people with similar taste associate with each other, thus giving the illusion of being common opinion. The fact is that you have no evidence nor any means of establishing in any real way that the opinion of a majority those who have played SFIV find the OST lacking in game (which is the only way to judge a soundtrack). So until you obtain some way of proving this, I suggest you stop stating this as a fact when it is far from.
Psh, Capcom soundtracks were largely garbage between Alpha 3 and CvS2. Whole lot of forgettable or not-fitting music in pretty much every game that Capcom put out in that time period (though CvS1 wasn’t too bad). Marvel 2 and CvS2 were definitely the worst offenders with their shitty music AND stages (except God Rugal’s), but there’s like 3 songs in Alpha 3 I thought were any good, and about that many in 3rd Strike. Quite frankly in comparison I’d take SF4, Tatsunoko, and even Fighting Jam’s soundtracks over that crap.
Neither SSF4 or MvC3 sound like jpop. MvC3 music sounds more like that modern, garbage pop/mainstream club rap music nowadays that has been infused with shitty techno. Sounds terrible.
When MvC3 was coming out, I was hoping that the music was going to go back to the earlier vs games like XCota, MSF, and XvSF that had an overall rock theme. However though, who wants to hear the same stuff again, eh?
I feel like theres something to like in every OST before IV.3s,2i,A1,A2,CVS2,ST,MVC series and TVC.Even though they all have different themes and angles and are from different time periods I like every one of them.SFIV is a continuation/evolution of the series and so the music should feel on the same level or better.
The thing is,I’m happy with the SSFIV character remixes.Guy,Adon,Makoto and Cody remixes are very good in my opinion. The stage themes however are just forgettable.I dont hate them, they just dont ignite any sort of passion to fight like say a .
