it seems that daigo is not a combat pragmatist, lol

Infiltration could care less if he’s a truly strong player in anyone’s eyes, he won, pure and simple. World love winners, and winners own the world, the real world. You think Daigo got where he is by being a loser?
Never, not in a million years. Just for SF4, Daigo is 2x consecutive EVO SF4 Champion, made top 8 in every SF4 EVO since then, making him the most consistent SF4 player in terms of EVO attendance.
And that PoongKo vs. Infiltration video was purposely edited in that all PoongKo wins were omitted, VesperArcade sure loves that riding. $8.95 baby!
How do you know this? Has someone uploaded the missing fights elsewhere?
The uploader cut out the matches poongko won, but it was till completely lopsided in Infiltrations favour. You can see since its Endless Lobby and the win count will reset/it will show poongko with 1 Win or 2 Wins above his health bar. But Infiltration was at 8 wins at one point before it resets. Double perfect match was crazy to see as wlel.
That doesn’t mean he won against Inflitration though. Infilitration could have taken a break and then skipped his turn leaving Poongko to beat whoever else was in the lobby. I’m not saying Poongko didn’t beat him, I just don’t think there’s enough evidence to say that matches where Poongko beat him were intentionally omitted.
it all makes sense now! this is why Daigo stopped playing 3s.
I’m going OT here and I don’t care. No wonder Fedor never evolved? I have to ask, do you know much about MMA (I’m not trying to be sarcastic, it’s just that this is a very strange thing to say if you’ve been watching for a while/know the research)? Saying he never evolved is not only untrue, it’s ridiculous.
Fedor came from a pure Sambo background. While the guy didn’t heavily study his opponents, his coaching staff did and prepared him for situations and techniques. Hell, you can see it in the Cro Cop fight. He was ready for whatever he threw at him. No different with Nogueira.
Anyway, I expect a response on how Fedor “never” evolved. Lol, the guy spent a huge chunk of 2010 and 2011 learning Muay Thai. In the mid 2000s, Fedor went to go train with K-1 kickboxers and overseas boxers to develop his striking game to keep up with the better strikers. He worked with all types of fighters, trainers, etc. during his almost 10 year 27-28 fight win streak. Even as a well-rounded fighter, he continued to develop his game. Where exactly is this “never evolved” part of his tenure in MMA? He ran one of the most dangerous divisions in the history of the sport (I’d say the current LHW division is one of the few that surpasses it) that he was undersized for. You don’t do that by not evolving.
Fedor’s downfall is the same as any other fighter’s downfall when they hit their mid-30s. Has nothing to do with not evolving. The sport didn’t pass him by. He got old, man. That’s like saying Wanderlei never evolved.
Rampage never evolved, which is why he has sank over the last few years. He developed his boxing and never did much with anything else. Hell, even though he is still relevant, Dan Henderson hasn’t evolved his game in almost 6-7 years. His striking is still at the same level it was (he’s just lucky enough to have a damn good chin and heavy hands) and his cardio is still atrocious. The Gracie’s never evolved. Hughes never evolved (and he got old too, but Hughes never developed any part of his game). Took forever for Vitor Belfort to evolve.
I’m not even a huge Fedor fan. I appreciate him and respect him, but you won’t see me walking down the street with a T-Shirt. It’s just saying he never evolved is like saying Couture or GSP never evolved.
/off-topic
im not going to read your whole comment because what you’re saying is not evolving in todays MMA. do you know what evolved means in a fighting/sports sense? he can train all these new disciplines as much as he wants, but if he doesnt study fighters in this new day and age of MMA, 1) he is not going to know how to apply them, 2) he is still putting himself at a huge disadvantage not knowing what he’s going into. fighters, who no doubt have studied him, and even if they’re inferior, their gameplan on the night is going to be better. It’s all about the correct game plan, not i can do muay thai etcc… that is not evolving. certain Training camps, whether MMA or even boxing get a big reputation because they study fighters inside out, and their fighter trains specifically to exploit weaknesses, or to nullify strengths in his opponent. im not sure fedor’s camp does this even if you say they do. for him to say he figures things out on the fly shows why he’s lost 3 in a row to fighters who were not better than him. he’s not comin in at 100% in todays standards, and its showing because he’s errors are costing him in a matter of seconds. These are stupid errors. he is not being out fought so i cant put that to age. Sometimes its the trainer that wins you a fight, hence why some are so highly in demand.
Also, when i say evolved, im obviously not talking about when he dominated. A new breed of much better fighters have arrived, and Fedor has not been able to keep up with them. Because he is still doing things like back then, he has not moved forward. which is why, imo, he has not evolved. The 1st thing he needs to do is separate himself from his greedy handlers, and get a new camp and change his philosophies towards approaching a fight. After he lost to Werdum, his response was ive been relying too much on myself. Even his brother slated his trainers saying Fedor is not disciplined enough. i wouldnt know these things if i knew nothing about MMA.
we’ve both said our opinions. if you want to respond just msg me
I think diago is the best lol. If he chose another character like akuma he would be so fierce. His reactions are easily the best I have seen from any player.
I guess you must of missed it but he did gloat. After he demon’d Daigo got up and did that stupid “Tokido pose” and started fist pumping.
Everybody else was just business. But beating Daigo was something different for him. He has lost to Daigo so many times in tournament play. And beating him on the biggest stage in the world of fighting games really fired him up emotionally because we’ve never seen him react like that before.
I think PoongKo won more big tournaments in korean than Infiltration
hard to know who is the best. This is not like tennis where they have a point system. It’s very hard to find out is the best unless we have some crazy top level first to 10 round-robin world tournament.
evo is too random. Too depends where your draw and your pool. You see some average players made top 8 at evo. I’m not just talking about AE, you see average players make top 8 in mvc3 too.
The evo point system is not very fair. Unless you live in American or have money to travel, you will probably have no point. The good thing is if you can beat one of the players with alot of point in pool, you inherent all their point and you will have a good pool the reset of the day.
Just like last year i said fuudo is not the best. It will say Infiltration can easily not win a big tournament for a long time. Lost to the same person many times, then you finally beat that person once, it doesn’t make you a better player.
This especially…if you look at Infiltration’s bracket, he had a pretty easy one. His only challenges were his last few fights (because he got that far). Most of the other top players had to run into other killers before top 32 and it’s the main reason why many of the Japanese players went into the losers bracket and then eventually eliminated by other japanese players.
Infiltration played really solid, probably the best I’ve ever seen him play…but it’s quite a stretch to call him the best right now. If he had a tougher bracket, it’s extremely unlikely he would have gotten out in losers.
I think Infiltration won because he made his opponents health bar go down to 0 more times than they did him in a 2/3 match setting.
He is the best in the world as of now at least, or on that day.
I don’t know if thats the right thing to say, although my experience with fgc is limited to what I see on the net. Every Evo has proven that there is growing talent everywhere If you crawled out of a losers pool of Japanese players then you should have no excuse for losing. At the end of the day there is only One winner maybe a couple of players listed lower a little than they actually were but in the grand scheme of things he won.Maybe instead of making EVO just a weekend they should extend it to be a 5 day event to truly get longer sets in.
He also bodied people a lot in the Salty Suite.
Is infiltration a FRAUD?!! Someone post a link to his bracket.
His bracket consisted of Fnex bahn, Af forwardstepkick, DRS MCZ Chris, Neil Goel, TFA RZR German Luger, 801 Strider Gustavo, Snafoo, IPeru, Dieminion, Daigo, PR Rog, Gamerbee.
Still a tough bracket in general but there were a number of brackets with a ton more killers. Like I’m pretty sure some players like Bonchan(can’t check now) had to fight like 3-4 japanese top players and only got to around top 32 (so their brackets would have been even more stacked if they were able to make it out).
infiltration recently changed his gamer name, I saw a stream of a korean weekly he attends and everyone was calling him Penetration
Well, I truly do now believe he is on another level. Another dominating performance at Taiwan’s 25th Anniversary tourney.
