I you have the right idea, but are a bit misguided in regards to where it’s all heading.
The theory of a single device for all is not a new one and to some effect is in place with inter-connectivity with the psp/ps3, the wii u and controller etc. The tablet/mobile device argument will take over has actually been proven false over the last few years as the sales of these devices ranging from ipad to android/windows mobile has actually decreased showing that in it’s present incarnation, people are less inclined to buy these devices with little practical purpose for the average consumer.
These are of course broad stroke statements and all scale decreases in form while attempting to increase in function, but within our lifetimes, it will not be a mobile device dominated market.
I played Other M. They didn’t really sexualize her there, they just sort of messed up an attempt at giving her character emotional depth by making her kowtow to an old commander she cares about, but we the audience have no real reason to have the respect for the guy she does, so it all comes off pretty badly. You just end up questioning why she’s listening to this guy as we the audeience haven’t seen him really do anything that warrants the respect she’s giving him. If anything Other M is just an example of bad narrative crafting and character development, and well of bad game design over all as it’s not a particularly good game anyway.
I gotta disagree because the internet of everything is becoming a reality. Hardware is getting better and smaller. The big limiting factor here is battery life and to a lesser extent the shitty internet infrastructure in the USA, but if/when that gets solved, that’s when thin clients/cloud computing will really take off. Thin clients that offload most of the processing power to the cloud will be dirt cheap, allowing them to be mass produced. The ability to play good games from anywhere on multiple different devices will give traditional consoles a real run for their money. Everything is moving toward a subscription / DLC model, and the thin clients that connect to the cloud is a natural extension of this.

Also, saying console and PC is the core of gaming is profoundly wrong. Consoles and cell phone games have been on equal footing in Japan for literally 15 years now. The west is just now starting to catch up on that fact.

Anyways that wii u statistic reminds me of that nielsen comic book survey that reported that over 90% of DC customers were men with a tiny portion being women. The reason this survey was interesting was that it came out right after complaints that too many women in the new 52 are sexualized…but given the consumer base it would make sense to pander to the folks who are going make them the most money.
We need to start doing this shit for like E-news and wendy williams or whatever…making dumb ass demands and claiming that their shows-networks are sexist because they don’t pander to men.
