ggpo evil arguments of doom
Random in mvc2 is usually known as when you perform some kind of motion and you mess up, your opponent does not anticipate the fuck up gets hit by an attack and they were is unable to react/block because it was not an intended command… They game may also “glitch” and things that are not supppose to happen DO happen. Another case is mashing on LKs when you are being reseted which catches the opponent off guard.
MSP more so then any team benefits from the games mishaps. Psyblade only supplements to more randomness and players benefitting from mistakes.
The psyblade assist has many positive features making it very annoying. ( Im sure I missed a point or 2):
- It has invincible start up and counters QUITE a few things
- It it hits, MOST Of the time it set ups combos for magneto or storm
- It comes out very quickly
- Its almost anti-rushdown, you can barely attack from the air when someone has psylocke waiting in the wings.
- It allows for what I call easy mode guardbreaks
EG storm on incoming character j lp psylocke - Issac and other players do it religiously and its hard to mess up - Psyblades set ups a lot of combos and resets that are not possible without her and dash over psyblade is very quick
-magneto and storm are already deadly without her and with her become more problematic (she makes those 2 rushdown characters better) - IF she hits an assist and a point character its a free snapback
- she allows for unmashables with magneto and strong combos
Negative things about the Psyblade:
- People tend to become reliant and Psyblade and stunt their growth in mvc2 overall or at least with magneto
- She does not have a lot of range
- People are trained to kill psylocke and make a lot of attempts to bait her.
- She has low defence as a character and lower durability then the average assist
- She is the easiest character for sentinel to perform his unblockable on…
The positives outweight the negatives forthe most part for the annoying Psyblade.
Psylocke herself is a pretty decent character on her own and can usually get out safely if snapped in and can EVEN fight… I will not discuss some of her merits unlessed asked to.
Psyblade is the main reason people hate msp…
PS A tricked not used too much wit msp is alpha counter psylocke and when her annoying psyblade connects you cancel it into bufferfly super xx Hailstorm. You need 3 levels for this but its pretty useful to get magneto out and do some damage on a point character.
Because we don’t like playing mindless drones who go cr.lk+psy into combo and that’s it. A lot of scrubs just think they’re awesome when they play MSP but it’s actually just a scrub team the way a lot of people play it. Now I don’t mind playing a good MSP, I just hate playing a person who thinks they’re good because they’re using MSP.
That is exactly how I feel. :karate:
I will admit…
I learned the gods, mags last when I was learning. I picked up MSP, and while I won I didn’t know HOW or WHY. I’d start playing, and my eyes would glaze over. Sometimes I’d notice I’d won, and sometimes lost.
MSP is a great team, but it can make people lazy (Like me), if you have a thinking MSP, then you won’t be the typical stunted learner of MVC2 that most random no good MSP’ers are.
It’s just way to easy to play PsyFighter and get lazy. Just gotta keep learning.
I’m fairly new to Marvel and haven’t even gotten around to messing with Magnus yet.
Yet, I used psy’s AAA and almost instantly saw why people hate it. The first time I EVER used it, meaning the first time I ever pressed the button in a serious match, it saved me from a proton canon.
Nearly every newbie I’ve seen use this assist abuses the hell out of it. It has to be the most hilarious assist in the game.
Or tied with Tron projectile.
…
Oh boy.
swims past
people hate msp because A. when they get owned by it, they realize it was because they couldn’t defend it. And B. when people use it, and there magneto dies, they realize they don’t have a very good magneto, and that now they have to fight with Storm/psy, which isn’t that bad, but sucks to play IMO, however, Storm/Tron…Now thats fun due to RANDOM DAMAGE. lol.
just my opinion./ people would hate msp since most likely, some slight mistake combos would connect, or in turn, becomes a reset, which is unlikely to be expected in an actual match.
my main lineup as of now is msp. also people here ay my place hates cable, that’s why i like to play this lineup. that’s for now, if i talk more about why i like it, then i wouldnt be in topic anymore with this thread. anyhow, that’s what i think why people would hate msp.
Too bad the players are scrubs.
