I initially gave him a try at first because I enjoy a lot of the Mega Man games, and I’d heard good things about him in this game. I wasn’t disappointed when I tried him out, he’s a really good character and a lot of fun to play as, and he’s been on my main team ever since I gave him a try, and probably won’t be leaving unless he gets nerfed to the point of being unusable.
Zero is the sole reason I bought MvC3. I told my friends that I wouldn’t buy the game unless he was added in…Well he made it, and the rest is history.
Oh, favorite MM series character of all time, and stuff. No brainer pick for me.
Grew up with the MMX series. X4 is my all time favorite Megaman X game, which IIRC, was the first game where Zero was a legit selectable character for more than 1 stage.
Zero is my favorite character across all media. As a 1986’er I pretty much grew up right alongside the entire Mega Man franchise.
Also in high school I spent a ton of time playing MMZ games just trying to clear the final level (with all the bosses) on hard mode with no upgrades, S rank, and not taking any damage. Only one I ever accomplished this in was MMZ3 but I got close in the rest and I do plan to go back and finish them (and record it all). I have S-ranked all of them on hard (every mission, every game) just haven’t finished the no-damage runs yet.
…I take my MM games pretty seriously.
I grew up playing the Megaman games. Those plat-formers defined my childhood. That and I told myself that I would main Zero if X/Megaman wasn’t one of the last 4 characters to be revealed when Vanilla was about to be released. You could imagine the amounts of hate I had when Hsien-Ko was revealed instead of X/Megaman. That and the fact that Zero had a play style that I really liked, and he happened to just be good.
However, I would’ve continued playing Zero even if he became shit tier in Ultimate.
I saw his reveal trailer, I saw the swords, I saw the projectiles, I saw the flame uppercuts, I saw the lightning, I saw the rainbow pillars, clones, and the infamous Rekkouha XFC Genmu Zero that took out She-Hulk, since then I knew I’d be maining this character and have done so since those pre-release fight clubs
Oh and X4 was the shit

Technically you COULD play zero in MMX3 on all stages just no boss fights, except for one I believe. But still, X4 made playing as zero way more legit. 
Megaman is serious business.

I loved Zero on Tatsunoko vs. Capcom he was awesome and he still is on UMvC3.
Zero has been my favorite video game character of all time since Mega Man X, and especially after Mega Man X4. He’s the only reason I bought (Ultimate) Marvel vs Capcom 3.
I’m so glad almost everyone here picked him because he’s their favorite Megaman character, since that’s pretty much my reason also! Once he got into Tatsunoko vs Capcom and also MvC3 I had to play him.
Got me this far in majors, gotta get him to the top!
This. Zero’s been one of my favorite videogame characters ever, so i played him from day 1.

BTW, anyone would want Zero from MMZ as a playable character sometimes ? He still has a ton of differents moves and differents weapon to exploit. The shields, the rod, graplin hook, enemies weapons from MZ4, ect.
Oh, and he looks more bad ass in MMZ witthout his shining boobs too.

I was a huge X4 fan when I was younger, played the shit out of that game and loved the character. When he was announced for TVC, I immediately dropped my old main of Karas and put a lot of time into the character (I was the first person to find out he could use level 3 buster to extend his combos) and when he was announced for Marvel 3, I instantly knew my main, whether he sucked or not. Also, while I didn’t directly invent the lightning loop since I didn’t have the execution for it at the time, but I did talk about it and gave someone else the idea it seems, because immediately within the next 1-2 days, someone found the lightning loop lol.
I just love the character, I love the playstyle, all the options, basically, everything. By far the most fun fighting game character ever.

I think the music goes great with it. Shit, that opening gave me chills when I was younger. Maybe it’s nostalgia goggles but I think it syncs with the video awesomely
and x4>x6>x5 imo. Probably because I played the hell out of x5 that I really can’t even stand to play it anymore, lol.
I respect that, but I don’t feel that kinda rock music has a place in this series let alone X6. It’s pretty different from the rest of that game, and if you listen to the music from the every other iteration, it just doesn’t seem to match at all with the series in general, but that’s just me. Perhaps I’m too used to the fast paced music of the MMX games and not used to a slower rocked out song being added in the series.
X5 imo had the best soundtrack.though at least out of the post SNES ones. X1 still takes the cake to me overall.
