[quote="Her flashy combos are quite tough but not nessicary to win. Cr.mk xx HP DP FADC > St.hp is a pretty tough link, I can’t seem to get it even when I plink it right, just gotta get timing down[/quote]
I think it’s silly to say that anything xx hp dp fadc > BnB is not necessary to win. Can you win without it? Sure. Can you win with Ryu without doing a single combo outside of crouching forward xx hadouken? Yes. Both questions are pretty irrelevant when discussing mid-high level play, imo. I think being able to do around 400+ damage (pulling that out of my ass, I can’t really remember the numbers but that sounds close) off of any dp buffered into a cr. forward, cr. short, st. short, st. strong or whatever else you feel like tossing out there when you have 2-3 bars is a pretty important element of Sak’s gameplay.
No, it’s not “necessary” to win, but it makes your footsie game a hell of a lot scarier and rewarding if you play it well.
Agreed deebs, Only C+ and I am getting my ass handed to me because im not doing max damage whenever I get the opportunity… especially against turtle characters like Balrog… It’s actually impossible to win against a good one unless you can do the high level combo’s, even Uryo has trouble.
That’s actually one of the reasons i like playing with Sak, just the massive reward and momentum change you’re able to get from every footsie “victory” when yoi’re able and willing to spend the 2-3 bars. Not many characters can land one of their most damaging combos which sets them up for resets or oki from a cr. Fwd landed at max range.
When I picked up Alpha 1 for the PS1 way back from blockbuster I was your typical shoto user.
Then outta nowhere
FEMALE SHOTO. Japanese School Girl (had no idea what this was so young)
Flower Kick… “P.P… P… Panties”
Once I saw a character in a sailor fuku I was instantly sold. I like her gameplay too. She has the shoto moves, but they are different from the usual. EX tatsu juggle and horizontal multi-hit shoryukens are a lot of fun.
Really, I find it incredibly hard to get in with Sakura against good opponents. I’m sure she is much easier to keep out than Elf, like 90% of the people I bet don’t know how to handle El Fuerte properly and would get RSF’d to death.
Really? Are some 1-frame links just tougher than others?
Because If those are really 1-framers, that’s crazy because I can do them 9/10 times. I always get the cl. st. forward>short tatsu>cl. st. fierce>short tatsu>c. fierce>followup
Depends on the timing of the link. The long pause between short tatsu and cr. fierce throws me off if I don’t consistently practice it. Some people, such as yourself, have no issues with that link. However, strong/fierce shou FADC > cl. fierce is fairly easy to do for me. I always hit the FADC link and drop the cr. fierce link.
