Yeah there tends to be a coalescence of feminism and male-female chivalry. It gets to the point where women really want equality of outcome/benefits instead of full on equality in every way. Though of course there’s feminists who aren’t like that(this coming from one of the biggest anti-feminists around), but not nearly enough to actually matter.
And then let’s not forget there’s the bra burning I don’t need a man for anything psychopaths who’ll flip out if you dare open a door for them or anything, but have no problem siphoning men and others money for alimony/child support/affordable birth control.
I need feminism because I don’t think there’s enough double standards in the world as it is.
On a lighter note: It’s funny how entitled feminists feel. Not to mention their ridiculously shitty mindset that dictates that supporting your husband and doing the chores is oppressive but serving as corporate pawns, slaving away in a cubicle for most of the day is freedom.
I tend to think that feminism is kind of like atheism in that regard. I’d wager most of them just want to be treated fairly… but then you have the vocal minority that’s hellbent on ruining it for everyone else.
Men don’t have babies, hot flashes, or PMS. Your equality is BROKEN.

The thing I have noticed about humankind is that any leeway we get, we exploit to the utmost. Regardless of sex/gender, once we get an inch, we take a mile.
Feminism started because women collectively were treated unfairly and mostly sequestered into gender roles by a male institution that used family values/ religious morality to control women in general. Throughout history, the use of presuppositions- in this case using logical fallacies stating that women are mentally inferior so they are incapable of higher learning, working professional jobs, etcetera were used as reasons to subjugate and never give them a fair chance. The reason wasn’t just because of a true belief in inferiority, but rather deep-seeded fear, a fear of a change in the social order and loss of personal [white] male privileges.
Why this stands out to me is because blacks were put under those exact presupposed ideas, for the same reason- fear of change and a loss of white privilege.
Now that things have leveled out a bit, we have the different schema on these classic civil rights issues. Due to the historical power and modern misrepresentation of a bygone era, we now get an inverse of privilege; but this time it is distorted so that modern women can take full advantage- legally and socially. This isn’t to say that discrimination still doesn’t exist, but now there is a feeling amongst some women that empowerment = superiority. Even the women not actively participating get swept up in “the cause” simply by gender association, and are too scared to vocalize the group’s departure from common sense and fairness (“Don’t punch a gift horse in the mouth” mentality). In the same vein, some blacks will use racial solidarity and the “racist agenda” as a scapegoat for blatantly wayward and asinine behavior. (“Free* Insert Rapper who actually committed the crime he was charged for*!” T-shirts)
What makes it even more sad is that the neo-feminists of today don’t really give a shit about non-white, poor females. It’s all about labeling gender inequality on paper, whilst reaping the silent social benefits of femininity simultaneously. Any reprehensible or selfish actions can now be put under the phrase, “We deserve it, equal rights!”. Modern Western society still retains many pre-1900s beliefs on chivalry, in a world where women’s liberation still shrieks its Valkyrie cry. It just doesn’t work, but hey! We all wanna get laid so it’ll never be logically addressed on a large platform…

In the case of feminism however, that “vocal minority” actually holds power to get their views into reality, since they tend to be atleast middle class, college educated(women’s studies for an extra dose of entitlement, plausible deniability, and outright snobbery) and active in politics.
Unlike other movements, Feminists were spot on when they said “All politics are personal”. They’ve been playing politics better than damn near every other movement save for Neocons.
And nothing will change as long as you have a bunch of thirsty ass, testosterone lacking dudes jumping at every chance to champion for women in the hope that it will get them laid.
