Sitcoms are a hit or miss.
My problem with Reality TV is just how stupid its become. My beef is more so with The Real World. Now as young as i was, i remember the very first season of Real World and it felt pretty genuine. And to be honest, I haven’t really liked the show since Back to New York. Every season since then just came off as insulting. Don’t get me wrong, i like drama as much as the next person but it didn’t come off as legit especially with the recent seasons.
Not possible. Natural Disasters will either combine into a bigger storm, or cancel each other out. Therefore, Jersey Shore is safe. We however, are not.

do you know what a network sitcom is? i assume you don’t since less than half of the ones you listed fit the criteria (30 rock, modern family, & scrubs)…and scrubs sucks so that’s 2 shows out of the probably 20 or so that are on TV at the moment, not a good percentage. and reno 911 has been canceled for 2 years now, so get with the present.
Is river monsters reality? I like the fuck out of that show. I’d hang with Jeremy Wade. Zeb Hogan wishes he could be him so bad.
He catches his own shit all the time, I saw zeb on hooked just watching other people catch shit that he can’t or is too scared to.
People who idolize them are worse off.
I don’t watch any reality shows but I caught a couple episodes of Hogan Knows Best once. Fakest ‘reality’ I’ve ever seen.
Apparently you don’t as I’m sure a quick google search will show you most if not all publications do list them as network sitcoms.

Better than reality T.V.
Like The Furious One and Anemone pointed out, the whole movement looks bigger than it really is because of the low cost of production. Think about it: some of these people would probably work for free for a chance to be on TV. They definitely aren’t being paid as much as professionals. Then, instead of professional camera people who know how to create scenes and the like, you just need someone to follow idiots with a camera all day. The only person who probably need talent is the one who pieces together and cuts hours of footage into something digestable.
So, it doesn’t take much to recoup costs and make a profit. They are cheap, and make money, and less risky.
I think the more people who turn away for quality TV (sigh, Firefly), the more likely this fad will die. Otherwise, don’t hold your breath.
Man, we didn’t have expanded cable service for a many years as I was growing up. We finally got a full digital cable lineup really and I was flabbergasted at just how back TV is nowadays. I remember liking to watch Discovery and TLC for stuff like Beyond 2000 and The Next Step and stuff. Now it’s all reality shows of one form or another. I can’t stand it.
The only thing I both watching anymore is cartoons and the shows I like tend to get cancelled.
