Why did you main _______?

Also, he just seems so damn happy out there fighting. Makes me enjoy the game so much more.

Well, I’m jumping between Ryu, Chun Li and Rufus. When I started to play SF2 I saw that Ryu has a Same Birthday as me (21.07) so I started to play with him. Then came out SF4 and SSF4 I started to play with Rufus alot in online and some tournaments. Then I saw that Chun Li rock at SF4 like, she do in all Street Fighters. But I would say that Chun Li is the main char.

My Main is Vega. Im the type of person who doesn’t look at what the character can do or how good he is i just look for the coolest looking character to play with and yes… that guy was Vega
I mean come on the dude got hardcore mask and beautifully gold razor sharp crafted CLAW! and cool Bull Fighting/Matador clothes also he got again gold crafted brace on his left arm muscle and wrist.
We can’t forget about his crazy purple snake tattoo, and finally cuz he’s a ninja
I like his playstyle fits me perfectly.

Yeeeeooooowwwwww!!! :nunchuck:

I main chun and viper. Both are scurb killers. Good footsies with chun is pretty annoying if you suck, and I like easy footsies. You can also bulldog your way with viper and flame kick people for no reason if they suck. I mostly use viper to show off, and i like finesse and pixie characters in general.

I currently am maining cody because… well… see for yourself :stuck_out_tongue:

Double…

I main Akuma because I’ve always wanted to use him, but didn’t in HDR because he was cheap and broken. If I ever get to play Alpha 2-3 on GGPO I’ll probably use him there as well. In HDR I’ve used Cammy and Vega.

Sakura because I’m a masochistic.
yup,
word.

i played as necro and remy in 3s, with necro being my main.
no one really plays as him, so i play with guile because he’s as close to remy as it gets.

**Camym: **Because I liked her since Super Street Fighter 2 and (to me) she was one of the hardest to beat.

Fei Long: Same as above, except he was not hard to beat. And mainly because this is my all time favorite SF character (also because I am a huge fan of Bruce Lee) although I have more player points with Cammy than with Fei Long

Rose: Because she is fun to play with.

Cody: because at the beginning, I was planing to main Guy, but target combos are not for me (unless I have a stick) and also, he jumps to high and slow, so i quit using him, and since Cody was a Final Fight character like him, I decided to use him instead

I like to dabble with Cody and Vega just for the ‘cool factor’, as they look badass, make me feel badass, and my ego swells because of how badass I feel.

But if Hugo and Yun were to get in, I would drop Cody and Vega like a young man’s balls going through puberty.

Dan
Taunting.
Making the other shoto’s look stupid

i like characters that does kung fu, uses weapons or technical characters that have a lot of options.

that being said, i main rufus cuz he does kung fu.

on the side, i use:

  • viper (weapons, technical character with lots of options)

  • cody (weapons)

  • gen (kung fu, technical character)

  • vega (weapons)

  • honda (he has a lot of semi safe moves)

i did bision originally because he was just so badass in that cartoon and just felt easy to use.

i switched to sagat tho because i love fireballs(to the point every mmo i play i play a wizard hehe) and i wanted to learn a non charg char

I took quite a bit of time settling on a main, in SF4 I played Bison and Sagat mostly but really that was only because I like their personas (plus I teach Kickboxing so KB fighters are always in favour!)

In SSF4 though I went with DeeJay first, he’s fun to play but I got bored going for crossup/knockdowns the whole time. I’m now back to maining Bison, primarily because he’s a great counter for shotos which 90% of all PSN players are using.

Right now its:
1 Bison (because HS / EXSK > Hadouken all day long)
2 Chun Li / Juri (nice change of pace from Bison)
3 Dee Jay (Kickboxing - awesome fun)
4 Sagat (kickboxing - badass)
But I tend to play a wide range of chars to keep my interest high.

I played ken mostly back when sf2 was released as I thought he looked cooler than Ryu and I sucked with everyone else.

Then I kinda stopped playing sf and played killer instinct and then tekken games before moving to pc gaming almost exclusively.(didnt even know 3s existed until I started playing sf4 a month before super was released)

Anyway ssf4 was to be released in a month, my friends tried to get me into it so I picked up Ken again and found him easy to play at low level.
SSF4 came out and my friends recommended trying others and I always like Evil characters so Bison came along. Decided I liked his style and who doesnt love someone who shouts die when doing moves. Plus Psycho Power is win.

Anyway I then played a friend who was trying out Adon zipping all over the screen so I figured wow he looks pretty awesome, and been playing him for a while now.

I chose Guile when I first picked up Streetfighter 2 for the snes. I remember getting a video tape of high level play free with the Official Nintendo magazine. I saw matches of Guile beasting the opposition and decided that had to be me. Then I didn’t pick up another Streetfighter until Vanilla dropped and I naturally chose Guile. He’s got such an awesome backstory and was a rare sight online so I remained loyal.

Then the buffs came in Super. There were instances when I’d play against my mates and Guile strengths really shone through. A lot of the time I was still playing like it was Vanilla and old habits die hard. I was playing against my mate’s Elf whose mix up game had me rooted like a big American redwood. During a massive losing streak I began to move from character to character and randomly picked Bison. My only link to him was that he was a charge character. The match started and Bam! My mate had no reply and Bison was holding his own with my minimal knowledge of what he was capable of. I started to bring out Bison against all of my other mates and against ranked players and always felt that I had a chance at winning however low my health would drop. (Still have this feeling after a of month of maining him)

Plus it’s nice to represent such an evil bastard for change.

Guy, becaunse he can dodge projects really well and can rush from accross the screen in so many ways. Also just fun and loved final fight. I’m playing with Dan, akuma, gouken and rufus.

Bison - he’s been my fav fighting-game baddie since I saw SF the animated movie way back in 1995. Also like Dhalsim, a really good Bison player (which I don’t profess to be) can make a complete fool of the opponent.

I’ve wanted to play as Zangief for a long time, ever since I started playing Astaroth in Soul Calibur. I just could never get the 360 grabs to work. This game has allowed me to use the style I enjoy so much more easily.

  1. More lenient inputs
  2. Focus system allowing me easier defensive options
  3. SO MANY MORE MOVES! So much of what I use in Zangief here isn’t present in other games.
  4. He’s a tank! Lots of invincibility offered, highest health, big hits, and better mobility than one expects.
