Why did you main _______?

If only they didn’t name him King Cobra, which was rumored to cause unwanted racial references. :xeye:

I would’ve jumped on his nuts too.

T-Hawk, Gief

Because I like pushing in and tossing people around. Getting in is the hard part but watching them running away from my character like a little girl and causing half of my opponent’s life to disappear after I eventually get in is awesomely satisfying.

Also Bison as I like his rushdown/pressure options and the character himself is badass.

Depends on what “main” really means… about 2 months ago I decided that I would try and learn every character in the game some degree (3 at a time) so I could really choose a main based on play style. But my 2 best are probably Balrog and DeeJay. Still play them a little bit but have swayed away for the time being due to wanting to learn more characters. Plus I have finally realized that Balrog has a kindergarten learning curve and most wins come from the other players frustration with Balrog/not knowing the matchup and how to fight Balrog.

When I first played SF4 it was mainly when I was drunk and on pad so Balrog was perfect. Super super super super easy… literally 5 minutes in training mode with Balrog and you will be good with him. Crazy good normals, great special attacks, excellent rushdown and turtle style, oh and the jab…

Of course this was before I took any fighting game really “seriously”. I have played SF my whole life but never actually tried to learn legit combos or even basics of the game. HD Remix was the first game I decided to take seriously (about a year after it came out) and DeeJay turned out to be my main in that game. So naturally when he was announced for SSF4 I knew instantly I would pick him up. I was very disapointed however as HD Remix DeeJay is way for fun and cool to use than SSF4 DeeJay. I still use him though due to loyalty I guess?

But right now my focus is mainly on Abel with Sagat and Fei long chilling in the batters box and a dash of Guy every now and then. I hated all the new SF4 characters when they came out because I am very judgmental about a character on first appearance without even watching a moveset and what not. Didnt like any of their designs and I thought Abel was a homo. Now, however, his character really grew on me and I love his design and story as well as his sick moveset.

Unfortunately, from playing Balrog too much before my brain is programmed to do very simple linear tactics and so I dont use his mix-ups yet to his full potential… but i am learning. Tip to anyone: Balrog will make you play worse lol.

Sagat is my favorite SF character ever as a character so naturally I play him in every game but just decided recently to really learn him in depth.

Fei Long is just an O.G. quick as f*** and that focus is so awesome.

I also at first wanted to use Cody but then quickly got turned off of that since 99% of people now either main Cody or use him as a secondary. I was tired of facing a Cody 8/10 matches. I guess being a Blondie with Handcuffs, prison suit, a knife, and I dont give a f*** attitude makes people feel badass using him.

Rufus because of stomach physics.

I don’t have a real main. I consider myself a Shadaloo warrior. My highest character is Bison, got to B rank in like a week. I feel Barlog is my best but only because he’s so simple but he provides max damage with no effort. I’ve recently picked up Sagat and I like him because he’s a change to my usual charge characters i use. I can actually zone with his fireball as well. I’m going to eventually learn Vega because he’s part of Shadaloo and I can’t help but admire his crazy ways. I think I’m going to “main” these 4 keep improving with them and when I start going to tournaments I’m going to pick the character against my opponent that I feel is the best matchup. Seems like a nice plan for me. : )

I main whoever I think looks the coolest regardless of tiers or whatever and just try to get really good with them.

For this game that person happened to be Vega.
