Nah man. When I use a cr.hk alone, they hit me with a FA and crumple me. I use TC10 so that they won’t spam FA at footsie ranges; I use it as a little life saver when I need distances between me and my opponent.
Range, lots of moves to work with which leads to great combo possibilities. plus she’s sexy and just fun to play.
@Saikyo: (offtopic)Rofl I can just imagine Dan getting knocked the fuck out by Ibuki if he tried to recruit her to his dojo
Let me rephrase what I said, cause I obviously forgot a few words in my sentence u_u:
I’d say it’s better to forget about TC10 for a beginner. First, learn everything you actually need to know with Ibuki. Then, when you are good enough, go further and try to find new stuff to widen your game: this is when you are actually allowed to restart thinking about TC10.
The biggest problem for beginning Ibukis is that they tend to think that cr.HK HK is the way to go. That’s why i usually advice them to forget **temporarily **about this move, they will come back to it later, when they’ll have good basics
Exactly what I’m pointing out, and thankfully you understood that by yourself, which is a good step forward =)
And yes, when playing a lengthy set you start to think about this TC10 again, because you are looking for a way to surprise your opponent again =D
Started playing her in 3S so that’s why I choose to try her in SSF4 and I just continued playing her. I really like her combos, can’t play chars with boring combos and she has really fun combos.
What about Viper? Viper’s combos are extremely flashy and fun when you slip in 1 or 2 thunder feints between combos.
1 or 2 thunder feints lol. When I play CViper, I do it almost every chance I get (for the lulz).
There’s pretty much no reason not to unless I guess if you’re doing it off a light, which might reduce your frame advantage I guess?
I don’t really think her combos are that cool. And I can’t play Viper at all, her playstyle doesn’t work for me, I just suck with her.
I don’t play Viper, but her combos look really cool to me. But I get the feeling she’s only a viable choice if you were already gdlk before picking up SFIV.
Just broke 2000PP Playing Ibuki like I had no brakes.
Resets EVERYWHERE.
And about Viper. Execution wise she really is not hard. I came from GG so pretty much everything that is considered “Difficult” with her such as FFF and SJC was free as hell. Only thing I struggled with on SF4 was Gen and his MK Hands loop. That shit was ridiculous.
The only difficult thing for Viper is applying all those options during a game. That’s what makes her so difficult.

I started playing ibuki san because I found her personality hilarious and because she’s a ninja. In a tournament filled with fighters who are out to kill or vengeance; Ibuki joins because she’s looking for a boyfriend. However, over time of learning her play style I also find myself enjoying both the nearly unlimited tech that she has in all of her setups as well as the flash in all of her combos. I see it as if I’m going to be maining a character and putting all of this time into them; I at least want flashy combos or a funny personality. best of both worlds
She was one of the characters I was interested in using, and she seemed really easy to use. It’s also nice that she’s top 10.
I picked Ibuki because I like her. No ideas what else to say. I first got SSFIVAE last year, and the last fighting game I had played was Third Strike on an arcade machine. Everything was pretty new to me. So I figured I’d pick a random character until I found one I like, and I landed on Ibuki. Very easy to move around a lot with her, compared to other characters I’ve tried.
Off topic: Been lurking for months, but this is my first post. Hi everyone :3
i’m actually a marvel 3 player that decided to pick up SSFIV:AE to up my marvel game.
i usually watch streams online and before or after marvel tournaments, 90% of the time its SF. i remember how i used to watch it with no idea what was going on in terms of whats safe and what isn’t, but the matches were hype for me regardless. Because of my lack of knowledge in Street Fighter, Ibuki was such an interesting character to me, especially at the time and even now, the concept of her kunai vortex. Also watching Sako play ibuki was so mesmerizing.
So naturally, when i decided to pick up Street fighter, i played Ibuki right off the bat. Everyone tells me to learn Ryu for starters to understand the fundamentals, but i was stubborn and stuck with ibuki. To this day, i still haven’t really dabbled in any other character in SF.
As bad as that decision was for a street fighter noob like me, i was persistent. i remember i didn’t win my first match online until about 70 or so losses - -"
fast forward 9 months. as i started filling in the holes, my ibuki training is finally starting to pay off. i’m doing tsumuji loops now and starting to build a bank of set ups. (thanks to the wonderful people here and watching videos of Sako)
i know still got a long way to go, i’m still a big street fighter noob, but yea thats why i choose ibuki lol.
oh, and my marvel game did improve, quite alot actually
lad
Her kit suits me as a player and she is fun. That’s pretty much it.
[S] She could be cuter, though.[/S]
Ilayed Ken for a long time and did ok, but wanted to try some new characters. One of the first things that caught my eye was her ultras looked cool as hell. Then when I played her, I had a lot of fun. Worked on my combos, went through arcade mode, thought, “ok, let’s do this.” Went online and got the shit kicked outta me 6 or 7 times n a row. Still practicing though
What exactly do you guys mean by “autopilot?”
Playing without thinking, in short. Repeating what you practice in training room regardless of if the situation calls for it. End result is being a very predictable player.
