So my girlfriend played at Evo this weekend. She went 2-2 with her Honda, not bad for somebody who’s been playing the game casually for 6 months. Anyways, she tried out her bad Ibuki during casuals, since she’s kind of been re-inspired to pick her up again, after being exposed to the stuff I can do to her. She pretty much beat everybody at the casuals station, AND SHE DOESN’T KNOW A SINGLE COMBO WITH HER.
I mean, she knows what they LOOK like, but can’t execute it cleanly. She lands the jab bnbs into st.mk combo maybe around 30% of the time, and she still won, convincingly. Her timing is off on the kunai vortex, and people still can’t beat her. I was shocked and amazed at how bad people are at the Ibuki matchup.
You figure with all the hate surrounding her, that people would actually try to learn how to get around her tricks and setups. Nope, people just want to complain and bitch and whine and tell Capcom to patch her, without putting any effort into learning the MU.
This is good advice in ANY game. Ryu is generally considered to be extremely well-designed and balanced. He has all the tools he needs to win a matchup, but none of his tactics and stats are over-powered.
I picked her up originally in Super because I thought she had a wide and varied enough tool set to deal with any situation as well as a “vortex”.
It was foolhardy thought now that I look back on it. She is still good and has a large possibility space, i.e. potential, but Akuma is a purer form of that archetype.
Nice picture. Tonton is looking pretty awesome in that pic. Who’s the dude on the right with shit coming out of his nose? And who’s the purple-haired chick eating Takoyaki?
You play Ibuki and you don’t even know who they are?? Some Ibuki fan you are.

I think that’s sanjo with his beat-up face, I think makoto actually did that to him hahaha, I beileve he’s Ibuki’s training partner in third strike, you can see him holding a puching bag. The purple haired girl is sarai, she’s Ibuki’s friend.
