Take a break from SF. Maybe you’re just a bit burned out and need a break. I was like that with SF4 at one point, and took a break for a few weeks, and when I came back to it I was even more excited than before to continue playing it.
Just a thought. If you’re interested in blazblue, that’s great. Just make sure there’s a scene for it in your area, because playing games by yourself and trying to get good at them when nobody plays them isn’t fun. I would know, I’ve done it.
In some speculative tier lists for SSF4, the top tier is divided evenly between ‘rushdown’ type characters and turtle type, with a healthy amount of ‘rushers’ getting in just below top tier. SSF4 isn’t that turtle-y.
Cue inevitable “character type doesn’t dictate the flow of the match” spiel. Shut the hell up. I know you have to sit on your ass sometimes. But there is a tangible balance between aggressiveness and cautiousness. I LIKE that you can’t ride one mistake capitalisation/mistake to victory.
