Making her exactly the same would be pointless. The air projectile will be another similarity between the two, obviously, but reports mention gameplay being the same as before.
I liked 2002 the most simply because of the incredible cast. You had old school vs new school, which was awesome IMO. But when you have a tourney and only one of the top ten has a team without DuoLon, it get’s kinda stupid. I heard somewhere he was banned from some Korean tourneys, but I could be wrong. Besides, Mukai was kinda a lousy boss IMO. However, Alheid on the other hand kicked ass. I wish they toned him down and made him a regular character.
They missed Saisyu Kusanagi =/ That guys is pure pwnage.
On 2k3, I dont really mind it, in fact once you get used to the speed of the game the controls dont really feel loose at all.
My 2k3 team: Shen Woo, Daimon, Kei Dash
Daimon is pure pwnage. K’ is just too good, Shen is only there because I like his additude.
Yeah seems like they are gonna get everything right with XI, that is shaping to correct what 2k3 had wrong with it. Of course DuoLon is getting seriously nerfed, and adding Vanessa B.Jenet and others is A PLUS. And Dream Cancels aka Roman cough Cancels…hmmm…we’ll see soon enough. Me hopes SNK doesnt make NGBC a bad game, that game is looking to be “THE SHIT.”
I agree, im also waiting for NGBC.
Also, Duo Lon is nerfed in KOFXI but hese not really Low Tier. Hese just balanced.
To me, KOF’03 felt like an experimental phase. Though SNKP is trying to be unique w/ their little tag system, I still say that reserved characters should regenerate “Some” health. Then again its best to just tag out when one of your characters have been brought down to mid health.
From what I hear, NGBC has a totally different engine to it. Apparently Ive hear that SNKP has learned from the tag system problems with 2k3
I can’t stand '03 because of the stupid rubber band SvC engine. The engine feels so crappy and I can’t stand it. The closest I can descibe it is like your characters are tied by rubber bands. The gravity and hit detection are off. The garou characters aren’t properly represented. The tag feature could have been great, but I didn’t care for how it was executed and it leads to even more cheesiness. I bought it for a friend of mine for his birthday and I played it for a couple of days before I gave it to him and I wasn’t impressed in the least.
Kof '99 is still my all time favorite followed closely by '02.
NGBC seems to have somewhat of a more strict battle system from KOF03, it also features tagging (Im not saying its harder to play NGBC by saying its more strict however).
Well, the only thing I can recommend is that you look at the official gameplay videos of each other characters:
http://s8.invisionfree.com/Ookami_Forums/index.php?showtopic=286
In that thread I also explain something about the installers (since the videos are compressed in .exe’s) - too lazy to type it down, im about to go to sleep in a bit too. Just read the first post and whatnot.
And also, Magnaflux - KOF’03 feels nothing like SvC: Chaos. All KOF’03 is, is simply a faster (actually, faster is not the word im looking for…) KOF.
I can give you an example, one example being Kyo:
In previous KOF Games, when you perform the commands for his Orochinagi - the screen freezes, then Kyo (without charging) would take like a whole second for him to release his Serpent Wave.
In KOF’03, if you perform Orochinagi (without holding it) he throws it immediately after the screen flashes. Pretty much, what im trying to say is moves come out faster (without losing animations too)
Look at how easily and smooth Iori can performs his LP, F+LP 2-String, in other games that second punch would pretty much take its sweet ass time and it made Iori seem neutral (his image is supposed to make him seem like a fast character - KOF’03 succeeds in doing that).
Im not really sure why 2k3 gets so much hate.
To me it is the most refreshing kof since 98, i think its just people cant get ova 98-2k2.
Aleast snk are trying to breath new life into a ten year old game, like streetfighter capcom never get the 1st version right.
kofxi would be snk’s 2nd try and i think we will see a big difference in gameplay.
Actually for once im looking more forward to something other than kof which is ngbc, again snk trying something different hopefully it can start a new franchise with it.
From beelze reports and vids ive seen it looks very promising.
Well, 2003 was refreshing indeed, but it wasn’t all that great either way. I did enjoy it, but I just took it as a test for what hopefully will be the best KOF yet(XI).
Well, The tagging in KOF’03 was obviously experimental (its unique, yet simple. Compared to the last time they made a game with tagging in it - Kizuna Encounter).
Dark Shinryuken…that AV KICKS SOME SERIOUS ASS!!!
lol, thanks Dark Geese…
Its a peice of a sig that my friend Assaulter made, I just cut that part of the sig and added some effects to it with this really low budget program that came with my comp
So credit goes to my friend assaulter
I like 2k3 a lot(mostly because I don’t really like 2k2, despite the powah of Clark and Maxima in that game) in part because it just flows better, IMO. I think 2k3 probably plays closer to Garou than a King of Fighters game, which isn’t entirely a bad thing, but a different thing.
Yes it seems Garou is the thing so KOF is going that way, which as someone else brought out takes out the need to make a Garou sequel if they are going to just integrate the Garou characters in the KOF storyline.
KOF2k3 should be compared to 99. Both were first games that tried some experimental things.
2k3 smokes 99. I am looking forward to XI, but I still think 98 will end up remaining the pinnacle of KOF.
(98 has very few problems- the fewest of any KOF)
KOF 98 ver. Kyo was the dirtiest, IMO. What with the No Style and the autoguards and all.
KOF isn’t a good game in general (speaking from CvS2). Nearly every charcter has the same ground fireball and same uppercut fire surrounding move that takes up 1/2 the screen :lame: . SNK favors thier chacters horrible in CVS2 as well. If you play the comp (even on a very difficult level) it seems like some of the Capcom guys just sit there and don’t know how to block. And the SNK people have the perfect move to everything. Also some characters are just super hyped up SF characters. Such as Joe aka super Sagot Faggot. He has a doulbe fireball and an anti air. Wtf…seriously stacking thier characters. Truth is that if you look at all the top 2D games at evo (Marvel, CVS2, SFIII:3s, and SSF2) they are all form the SF franchise that was the best at fighting games since the beging (Karate Champ was kinda the first but w/e that double joystick thing was kinda weird). And all the game I just named were derrived from SFII really. KOF, Samuari Showdown, Guilty Gear (maybe an exception), and Mortal Kombat (kinda) are just… copies. If you like KOF that’s great I dont hate you for it haha. You can’t beat the best :karate:
Um, that was the most clueless post about KOF I’ve seen in a while…
First off, Joe doesn’t even play like Sagat at all. He’s one of the few KOF chars that relies heavily on his ground game…
Also, KOF doesn’t have an abundance of FB/uppercut characters, any more then SF. In fact, starting in KOF96, many characters had their projectile range reduced. Yes, there are things KOF can be criticized for, including 98. Some chars tend to be overpowered every year (Iori), the ground game is too subordinate to hops, sometimes a system quirk isn’t thought out correctly.
If you really think in CvS2 that Joe > Sagat, that’s crackpipe territory, Joe is considered one of the worst chars, and Sagat one of the best- for good reason…
lmao
Shoryuken, you sounded really obnoxious as hell, do me a favor, go play a KOF Game. Then come back and admit that your an idiot. Also, CvS2 pretty much uses an older version of the KOF Cast (considering the time it was made in). Since then, characters like Yuri have become better, CvS2 Yuri is so awful compared to 2k3 Yuri. Iori doesn’t even have his Saika, and if Rugal played anything like he does in 98/02… omg let me just shut up.
