It was a dude named Saki Fujita.
He was pretty huge in K1 and Seidokaikan before that, but eventually was banned for his conduct inside, and out of the ring.
Basically on 3 different fights he blatantly disregarded the ref and would just beat the hell out of his opponent even after they were out.
His last fight was against Ibuki Kido and he had this legendary Tomoe Naga (back throw) and followed it up with an arm lock. Kido tapped, but Fujita just kept going and broke it deliberately. Basically, it was the last straw, and got him blacklisted. This also served as the inspiration for Evil Ryu/Akuma, as at the beginning of his career, he was known for being very mild and defensive, he kept his distance, he chose the right moments to strike and made his opponents make mistakes. After a few big losses to Nao Tomoya and the legendary Rie Kugumiya (who everyone said was past his prime), he started getting bad press and rumors spread. He kind of went nuts. Started mouthing off to top fighters like Taneda, Numakura and Kayano, and really lost a lot of face. Eventually, he started embracing it, got worse and worse mannered, allegations of drug use and domestic abuse…swirled around him and well…got himself basically wiped from the record books. Nobody wants to talk about him. I mean, you can’t even find him on English websites. Which is a shame because it is really interesting.
