This is a pretty stupid thread, but it would help if you more clearly defined importance, especially in GD where a lot of the supposedly influential nimrods in the SF scene don’t really matter.

Away from games, as far as I know nobody comes close to being a standout candidate. Nobody foes anything so much more high profile or philanthropic enough that they are clearly ‘more important’ (as nebulous a term as that is) than anyone else.
I mean, Hevad plays poker- how is that ‘important’? It’s glamorous and lucrative, sure. Quite a lot of srkers work in games, including myself, but that’s no more important than anything else really. Less so than a lot of stuff.
I’d go with Cannons, only ones that have really had a positive effect on everyone here.

This thread is cruising on a poorly defined and constantly flexing definition of importance.
If you’re going by who’s most important as far as matters important to SRK, then I’d say it’s S-Kill, Sirlin, the brothers Cannon, and anybody else whose passion for fighting games has driven them to do more than just play them or post about them on the Internet.
In the larger sense of overall importance to humanity, I’m sure that at least one of the weird bastards who comes here is in the process of curing cancer or something like that.
