Marriage looks like too much of a high risk gamble to me. Especially since I won’t be getting anything that I didn’t have before. Also talk about things women do after marriage makes it even less appealing. Like a worse sex life, gaining weight because the “deal is done”. Then you got these women doing crap like “starter husbands” which is marrying will the full intent of divorce. Alimony has no reason to exist in an era in which both sexes go to school and work. The high divorce rate also makes people like pathetic in turn. Talk about guys who feel like they’re in a prison because they’re with some woman and she has their kid. And the kids are a whole other issue right there. More single parent homes and such. Women making decisions like going off the pill because A: the relationship is stagnant and he needs a push. B:They’re getting old tick tock. C:Revenge and so on. Always thinking they’re doing the right thing.
So when I see these couples and they look worn out and look like death is eating at their insides, I wonder what went wrong. This is huge to me because all over the world people have children and get married. How many of these men realized that things got worse and felt that they had no way out and just “settled” into that spot? Happiest when not around the wife? Bitching about the wife to his friends and she does the same about him with her friends? Guys are saying “I only use American women for sex” and look to marry foreign women. And it just keeps happening which means one day, it’ll probably be standard.
People looking at me thinking one day I’ll be married and have kids. Like I can’t even decide for myself. As if that’s just how it is.
I would never say never. But considering how my life is going, if I were to objectively place a bet on where things are going, I will probably not marry. Unlike cynics, I have good friends who have married. So far, so good. Life is smiling on them. I grew up in a family that had very few divorces. I was one of the lucky ones. I grew up without hating women and hating relationships and hating marriage. All that good stuff aside, my life never turned out like that of my friends and relatives. Well, I have a few friends in the same boat as me. If I get anywhere close to thinking of marriage, I’ll have a true battle on my hand. I’m not a cynic but I love having 100% freedom with my life as a solo act (a true solo act, not a frat boy running wild) that I’m going to have huge problems with a 50/50 life. And being in a marriage is a true 50/50 situation. I guess I’m like the basketball player who is great as an individual but a ball-hog and horrible guy for a team.
