what is your strategy?
1)Knock the opponent down with a special like Shoryuken, Hurricane kick or High Blade Kick (I usually string these with a close MP, close HP, Low MK or close MK and I also only use the WP, WK specials because it has a quicker recovery and ‘still’ knocks the opponent down). If someone is unwise enough to jump at me, I’ll either wait for their attack and parry>Shoryuken or instant Shoryuken if I can tell they’re not good at parrying.
- Then charge the Denjin WHILE THE OPPONENT IS ON THE GROUND; Rotate the stick or D-pad 360 degrees to make it charge faster (Note: It can be charged instantly after a shoryuken but it takes a second after a hurricane kick or high-blade kick) .
3)Release it when you see the opponents getting up animation (or slightly before; even if he’s doing quick standing release it). The timing is dependant on where you’re standing but it’s easy to get the hang of. It’ll land right on or almost behind the oppenent and usually gets off 3-4 hits (5 if I’m really quick about it). On most occasions it will stun the opponent leaving him open for another combo.
Note: The opponent trying to jump over it is useless because he doesn’t have enough time to.
Problem: It can’t be blocked, but it CAN be parried.
Solution: While the opponent is parrying, rush in with a mix-up combo to throw him off and add in a grab just for kicks. (Most people will mess up parrying the entire fireball itself since it’s usually at point-blank or short range).
Problem: If Yang has a full super bar and is using the Tenshin Senkyutai, he can roll right under it and counter attack.
Solution: If you’re afraid that your opponent is good enough to roll under it then just be more careful and use it when he has no super bar. But it would be a much better choice to use the Shin Shoryuken Strategy for this situation as it dominates roll attacks (Shoryuken > Shin Shoryuken > well-timed high blade kick into wall > Shoryuken).
Like I said, after coming here I’m not so sure it’s original but I still love it anyway. I also play as Chun-Li, Yun, Yang, Makoto, Oro, Ibuki, Necro and Remy. They’re my team; but Ryu is on whole different team of his own (Well, not really…he’s just on his own).
Yo :xeye:
I have tons of Frankie footage…stuff I still havent ripped yet too
I used to have a site called DenjinVideo.com
The site was named after Frankie3s and Alex Vance (Vic “Victoly” Vance’s older brother)…both played Denjin Ryu and insipired a lot of people at FFA to play 3rd Strike
That I didn’t know, do you have old footage of Alex Vance playing Denjin? I will like to see.
Honestly…THat would be me heh? or we could find out
Well when someone can bring the goods, please tell me
I’m my favourite ryu player.

C royd is so right…DONT DENY HIM :nunchuck:
omg you ahve a pink sean avatar i’m going to kill you
I watched a vid of some guy playing SA1 ryu and had one helluva parry game. After parrying 3 to 4 hits he would always link into SA1 off c.hp–hadoukan–SA1. Never missed. Highlight of one match was while in the air a Chun Li did SA2 and he parryied to first part in the air, continued on the ground, finished with the air parry into a jumpin super combo. Ill have to look into the name but this guy was a great parryier.
I have the best Ryu in the US. SA111!!!
holla
My Ryu beats C-Royd’s for free.
…
Except not.
That was me!  lol, thanks for remembering me. By the way my friend, I’m at least 2x better than what you watched in that old ass video now (including my parry game) and I never fuck up parries or punishments! My Ryu’s been called “top tier” by some … so look out for me in the future, I will be hitting up many tournaments soon enough, I’m also going to VTYME in Richmond tomorrow. Hopefully there will be people there recording.
Thanks again!
