I can say that there is a lot of racism. Like the video on the front page not every group of black people is like that. More are not like it, then are. I’ve been to parties, smoked pot, drank, danced, chilled with a lot. The city is rough forreal, but 90% of the time if you just mind your own business, and don’t look at no one in a way that could be understood as muggin’ then you will be ok. In this case he didn’t do anything though…
That being said, white on black gets blown way the fuck out of proportion. Black on white gets no attention. Even though its obviously unfair, I am convinced that the media just does it that way to get ratings. I know that sick, but I honestly think its true.

Isn’t the fact that society is not only more offended when white people commit crimes but also don’t want to believe it’s a crime a direct testament to the fact that society doesn’t really expect crime from them? Vice versa, isn’t the fact that society is less offended by black(and minority) crimes born from an underlying acceptance of the idea that minorities are more likely to commit crimes? Isn’t that actually proof of the ingrained racism of the society we live in?

The reason “white crimes” get more coverage is because due to the circumstances surrounding the incident, they essentially get away with the shit.
The officers that beat the shit out of Rodney King were acquitted.
The officers that killed Sean Bell are chilling somewhere
The officer that killed Timothy Stansbury ain’t locked up.
The officers that killed Amadou Diallo got acquitted
The guys that killed Emmett Till were acquitted
I could go on. People are up were/are up in arms because they broke the law and didn’t get punished for it. In the case of the video, those dudes were arrested immediately and there’s a good chance they won’t be acquitted of the charges unlike other incidents where someone one was getting their ass beat on tape (see above). That is why no one is up in arms about the shit. It’s fucked up that it had to happen to that guy but the perpetrators were arrested for it and will be punished.
If they get off scott free than trust me there would be more media coverage than the Zimmerman shit.
