i’m asian, but i like hot sauce on my dooodoo
is something wrong with me?
Blackanise.
lol I stopped playing in 2k3 after I got sick, and just entered tournaments randomly after that. For a couple years till the whole health thing just got to bad… Everyones gotta die sometimes though… ill keep up the good fight hopefully long enough to see my doctors punished I guess…shrug…
And really white!? I use to be tanned back in the model days dont hate! sniffle sniffle
As much as i don’t play street fighter with white people, the worse trend i’m seeing in the video game community is wanna be asain gangsters.
are you suppose to be a damn geek to play games or something? you probably got a big problem with wiggers too than. according to your logic, white people should just stick to Lacrosse and Nascar.
lol, nah, i meant i find it weird that i play with very few of them, guess i could reword it
I dunno about that, but SRK definitely is.
Or, was.
Forum changed a lot since SF4 came out.
This thread is so retarded wtflol
It’s not something I would normally think about but I find it interesting: With any given diverse pool of people to pick from, one would that the “minority races” would individually represent a smaller makeup of the overall rankings. Say if 40% of the city was comprised of white people, as one person suggested may be in the case in an urban area like New York, then you’d expect the top listing of 8 to have about 3.2 white people on the list then each race down having an even smaller representation in relation. Albeit the sample size of 8 is too rather small to be certain, I’d say that the fact that the listing doesn’t match up to such an expectation may help to suggest the demographics are skewed in some manner.
However I wouldn’t be so sure that think that the lack of arcades is the sole cause. Fighting games are released in home format and Street Fighter IV is one of the more popular games this generation and was released on the 360, PS3 and even the P.C. just to pick up any straggler behinds. Judging from my experience with non-fighting game communities, which is a bit of a broader scope than that of the experience I have here, I’d go so far to say that it was possibly one of the more popular games this generation.
Let’s also not forget that HD Turbo Remix is one of the best selling downloadable games on the home console format ever. Not that there’s a terribly large history of downloadable games on the home console, since it’s kinda new to this generation but in a way, that just serves to help make it even more suggestive of the contemporary trends. Because of this, I’d say a lack of availability/interest in fighters seems to have little to no solid basis. They’re more accessible than ever.
Instead, I think it might just be that fewer people are willing to leave their homes just to play the game with others, since they have it at home and can utilize online play in a pinch. You have to attend a tournament in order to win it. This would make the demographics closer to what we might find where E.V.O was hosted in L.A, which would explain the Latinos: Southern California is right next to Mexico and as a result has a heightened latino population, making it more convenient for such people to participate in the event. If E.V.O. were to change locations next time, I’d be willing to bet the top player listing demographics might change as well.
However, I think what we should keep in mind that South-East Asians have a near olympian reputation for video game related talent. Judging from the original post’s list of top contestants, it would seem that this stereotype might not be unjustified, as over half of the people on it are Asian. Let’s not forget that it’s primarily Asian people who make video games to begin with, namely the japanese: Take Yoshinori Ono for instance, y’know the guy responsible for SFIV. Speaking of the guy mentioned on my Madcatz T.E. stick, I’d say the community takes a slight slant with the quality of Japanese arcade parts, such as Sanwa Denshi or Seimitsu, as being sensitively superior playing instruments. At least when compared to the more industrially minded U.S. based Suzo-Happ parts anyway. One might take that as being an indicative factor as well. In light of these facts, I’d attribute the larger part of this oddity to the fact that more than anything else.
Does any of this make sense or am I just being crazy?
Your whole race needs to step that shit up
