You may not try it, but I have almost 900 reversals that say many, MANY people are stupid enough to try it.
So your defense is that if it works on stupid people it makes it a good tactic?
i dont think youre looking at this the way i said.
u2 does not need to hit, i dont want it to.
youre TAKING THE OPTION FROM YOUR OPPONENT.
play someone who knows what the fuck theyre doing and see how many times they jump when youre buffering it, i actually dont expect it to land, because you keep them grounded and you can the poke at them.
u1 off of a focus on someone good will happen maybe 1 time in a set.
or u can pick u2 and take an option from them, think outside the box ladies come on.
How about this. I going pick Guy… And I going run the fucken away from u all day long. And there not a little thing u could do about it with U1. I going spam airgrab, command elbow, buttons, mashy, and shit. Though… if you pick u2… I may reconsider it scrubs.
And your idea is that nobody could do it against you because you’re too smart? The majority of the players out there aren’t Justin or Daigo. I’m not going to go blindly whipping the stick around on just anyone out there…you have to be judicious about how you play EACH match. Let’s just agree to disagree on this. I’m too old to get into flame wars anymore.
Then you’ll see about 50 DF+LP’s, a bunch of D+MK’s and when you make a mistake, I’m going to plant your face in the dirt.
fixed
Don’t get me wrong, when I jump over to T Hawk I’ll be doing that shit too online as well, more so if my opponent is playing a character dependent on tight links. Just saying that considering it a “guaranteed” situation is a big misnomer. By the same token, if I’m playing Dictator or a similar character with some sometimes harsh links, I’m gonna be completely shying away from any fancy combos and just relying on simple shit when the opportunity arrives. Better to deal a little less damage then give T Hawk the chance to plant me and go to town.
And seriously, Guy is not that good. The match is in his favor since he can get in and out so fast, but it’s not some crippling situation where T Hawk can’t stuff his shenanigans and eventually get in to do his thing (unlike Blanka, cause that matchup is just wrong).
lol…nice:)
I personally say that i prefer U1 only because i can’t find anyway to combo U2 and U1 is a bit easier to land. If anyone found a link to U2 i’ll be happy to see it though
Unless they decide to give it a patch and change it’s properties like they did with Rose’s Soul Throw between vanilla and Super, there won’t be any way to combo into U2. U2 is really more of a prevention tool then a move that you will necessarily land in a fight, same principle as Bison’s U2 (His for fireballs, T hawks for jump ins).
U1 vs. U2 debate mostly comes down to a high damage move that everyone and their mother will be trying to avoid, or a deterrent from letting the opponent jump in or try to neutral jump away from 360s
There is absolutely no way to combo into U2 I’m afraid D: It’s probably the only ultra you can’t land in a combo no matter what except for counter ultras.
Anyone tried anti-air corner lvl 3 focus, dash forward > Ultra 2?
each Ultra has one affect on opponents.
U1-They will most often jump to avoid it if they think its coming. This opens up Tomahawk busters
U2-They now have to worry about NJ and jumping back while in the corner. This opens up Thawks SPD game a tad more as they will be grounded more often.
I am not that good of a player to be honest., but to me its about play style. Also, U2 shuts down Akumas demon flip and tatsu shenanigans.
No matter what, you can’t combo into it.
You do that and I will probably win by timeout. If my u1 is making you play like an idiot Im fine with that result.
fixed. I never get hit by u1/u2 by hawk anyways.
That’s a pretty big boast, unless you only ever play Blanka.
Cocky much?
I’ve been trying to use U2 more often (just so I can use both of them well instead of just leaning towards one) and I’ve gotta say, it’s pretty decent. When you push your opponent to the corner, chances are that if you put them under constant pressure with tick jab spds and pokes, they’ll jump and you get a free ultra. I’m finding that df.lp makes a LOT of people jump.
I’m so torn between the two because it isn’t especially hard to make somebody jump but i love me a good 720. I think I tend to pick U1 more because I can actively go after landing that. I can set that up on my time as it fits into my gameplan. With U2 I think I fixate on trying to land it and any attempt isn’t entirely based on me. You cannot attack with U2–you react with U2 after attacking.
I think we should get a list together for matchups that just cry out a certain ultra. Put it in the first post or something if it turns out to be useful.
U1–Boxer, Dudley, Honda, Sagat, Abel, Hakan
U2–Claw, Dictator (though maybe it’s too easy for him to avoid)
thoughts?
