Which stick from HAPP?

…Wrong. The comp feels like it moves in a square, you might not be able to feel it, maybe you are to new to sticks, but the corners are very obvious.

Well, obviously you and I are feeling something entirely different. Believe me, I am familiar with square gates - I play almost exclusively on JLFs. I suppose people will just have to judge for themselves.

Well, if by your definition an octagon is a square, then yes, you’re right…

Are you serious? I’ve been building and playing on these sticks for years and years. Please take this troll talk elsewhere, Happ Comps HAVE AND FEEL LIKE A SQUARE GATE. The corners are OBVIOUS.

I’m sorry that you think since you can move the joystick in a circle that it must be round movment. Either you are silly, or just can’t feel it, go from corner to corner, along the edges, and the corners are obvious.

I’ve been on this website for years (new account) and I don’t know how long you guys have been playing SF, but this is like, stick knowledge basics, kindergarden stuff that people know about these sticks, there is no use in me arguing a point everyone but you know.

(If you are completely new to stick building, skip this post as it might be a little confusing).

I’ve built two sticks thus far using happ parts (one of them being a two player stick). In both I’ve used competition joysticks and in my experience, though the gate is square, the movement of the joystick feels round. I wouldn’t say it feels circular, but more like a square with rounded off corners. My theory is that the happ’s comp is restricted by the circular hole through which the stick goes through. The radius of this hole is big enough so that when touching the sides, the square gate restricts the motion but small enough so that at the corners, the motion is restricted by the hole only. So, this would in the end make a rounded off square motion.

edit: hehe, guess “that hole through which the stick goes through” is called the mounting hole. :stuck_out_tongue:

Thanks…

That’s what I was going to post when I got home tonight. Talk about going into detail. Good post.

Those same rounded off corners are what keep it from having pronounced corners, and make it feel very close to being round. I might have been wrong to call it round, but compared to the Ultimates, it might as well be.

I always thought the gate was the hole right underneath the square block that pushes the micro’s, which is round on the Compy, but square on the Ulti’s.

BTW, if anyone wants to talk about how many sticks one worked on and etc. Be prepared to able to come up with a figure in three digits before you you can come up with a number that I might be impressed by. It’s nice to be actually in the industry.

I pray for any company you work for if you thought a “gate” was a “actuator”.

I don’t care who you work for, you were wrong, and if you are saying you work for a stick maker, thats pretty sad that you didn’t know comps were square gate with rounded corners.

Read my post again, please… You completely missed what I posted.

Well , now, after about 4 posts, you admit that it’s " square with rounded corners". A couple of posts ago, you were all like “it’s square, period”. Maybe in a couple of posts it’ll be “round, with flattened sides”…

I wasn’t wrong, just maybe not clear enough. Would you agree with me on at least the fact that the Ulti’s have corners that are much more pronounced then the Compy’s?

This whole thing is just a misunderstanding. :frowning: We both know what we’re talking about, it’s all about miscommunication. How about a truce?
