Which series had the best roster of characters?

For me its Alpha, then II then 3, but they’re so incredibly close its rediculous.

I’ll admit Alpha got the number one spot from me almost soley because it introduced my favorite character Sakura. Put Dan, Karin and R. Mika on top of that and its an easy victory IMO.

II, those are the icons, the legends, you don’t forget Chun, Guile, Vega, Zangief, Balrog, Bison Honda and the rest of the team.

3 broke the mold and I appriciate it greatly. Dudley, Makoto, Alex, Elena, Ibuki, fucking Oro? Get out of here, that cast was as diverse and original as could be.

Because if you read the thread, it’s supposed to be only the new characters from the series. So in SSF4 you would be voting for El Fuerte, Viper, Abel, Rufus, Juri, Gouken, Hakan, and Seth

Exactly. SSFIV may well be the biggest roster, but it doesn’t count because it didn’t introduce many characters.

And all of the people that are saying SFA, you have to remember that you are excluding Gen, Adon, and Birdie because they were in SF1, along with the SF2 characters

You got it. Alpha probably had the smallest of all (6 + Final Fight + Juli/Juni, if they count). In fact, it’s ironic that the two biggest rosters had the two smallest number of new characters.
