hmmmmm? for best Naruto game I would say Clash of Ninja Revolution 2 or GNT EX3 but Rev3 is coming out soon. and for the Ultimate Ninja series Ultimate Ninja 5 is coming out soon which is Accel 2. I think Storm is a good game too but most people tend not to think so.
This is a good answer. GNT4/EX3/COTN seems to be the best to me. Haven’t played storm yet. I check it it out later. Accel 2 is broken as mentioned. Taisen series seems more traditional to a fighting game to me. GNT4 is known as one of the best of the Taisen series and was actually played in alot of tournies even in Japan.
They need to balance out the new Taisen series and perhaps put it on arcade over in Japan in order to popularize it though.
Never played that one; I always thought the most fleshed out Budokai was Infinite World.
Had a lot of little issues with Burst Limit as well; another thing I didn’t like was how long range combat seemed so buffed. I can already tell Vegeta was top tier in that game because he just spam Big Bang and his other stuff. Spammy, Spam, spam. Its not bad; I’d take it over Tenkaichi anyday but above all it just gets stale really, really quickly.

Tsunade generic assist breaks guard & bounces in one hit
Deidara generic assist is a spread projectile launcher
And then of course various character & assist combination make for overall wacky results, like dumb unblockables and the like. Essentially to try & have a tournament with assists you’d need to have a pretty long list, and no real place to draw the line between what’s fair and what’s not.
For the record, there was a group of players in Brazil who played with assists for a while after the game came out, there are matches out there.
Other than that
If you want a straight forward fighter with Naruto characters, pick up GNT4 for GC.
If you want a more dynamic game, but with substance, go with either Narutimate Accel 1 or 2
If you just want a Naruto game to dick around in with friends then Storm is good, it’s probably the most interesting for a casual person.
A lot of people don’t use assist anyways. Takes the focus of the game away.
Hopefully they fix things up in 3.

Unfortunately AdHoc Party requires both a PS3 and it to have a wired connection to the Internet (Yes I know this is ideal but some people don’t want to or can’t have a wired connection FUCKING SHUT UP)
me an my friends played the NMH series allot back in the day. i kinda watched videos for tournaments and did some research but i dont think there was ever much of a chicagoland scene for the games anyway so i never played in a tournament. so take my opinoins for what it is worth
ult ninja 1 who cares no characters started from 2 anyway.
ultimate ninja 2. itachi spam. dont know if tourney play was soley dependent on him but god he was hard to catch and could just spam one move while dodging to win, my friends had to ban him.
ultimate ninja 3 is supposedly most balanced, and has pretty much all pre TS characters and most are playable. i remember someone was winning tournaments with Hanabi. had super and special move selection still not sure on the official policies for that. everyone has an infinite practically. Opionion: characters seemed much more powerful and like the could mess people up no matter who your using. Best game in the series, probably what i would play if i played with my friends again.
ultimate ninja 4 is good but has some broken characters and stupid characters like lee and guy who were much harder to KNJ. characters with good transformations dominated with iirc with shikamaru going from god tier into broken tier with his. couple characters banned from tourney play.
ult ninja 5 has assist randomness, timeouts, and broken characters, me and my friends stopped playing the series cuz of this game lol. not gonna say its bad though since we never really delved too deeply into it but tournaments for the game banned assists so meh, not the epitome of design and easier knj seems to make it retarded, most characters seem really weak.
overall i liked the series better than GNT, i actually think nh3 is the best one to play most fun and balanced naruto game.
Ninja Storm is the best imo. It has the right feel for a Naruto fighter, fast ludicrous action. If I want to play a traditional fighter I’ll go play Street Fighter 4 or KOF or some shit.
There is only two flaws it has imo. It has no Shippuuden characters which is a buzzkill, considering Shippuuden is the new stuff right now with older characters and crazy new characters. Also it has no online. Hopefully Ninja Storm 2 will be based on Shippuuden and will have online.
Storm is definitely a great game. There are a lot of great ideas they have. Hopefully the sequal will improve the game and include online play.

Naruto Gekitou Ninja Taisen 4 for GC is the best hands down. Had a tourney scene for a few years till the wii version came out and was garbage.
I can’t really pick. I’m not a Naruto fan anymore. But I do think that Ninja Storm was what all the Ultimate Ninjas should’ve been: An even awesomer version of Clash of Ninja.
What about the DS games?
