Which MvC3 Button Layout Do You Prefer? 6? 4? 3? Other?

Yeah sorry I quoted the wrong guy, I don’t see it as more than a cross up though. swaping sides quickly is easy in both games. Both games do have their turtle friendly characters. I Like MvC1 much more though.

If anyone has been playing TvC using the remote (or thinks that is how it is played if they have never played it before) then they were doing it wrong. The classic controller was the only proper way to play the game.

Who is this referring to? Wiimote + fighters = Eww…

TVC plays like it does because Capcom knew that not everyone had a Classic Controller so, to cater to more folks, they wanted people to not have to have one and be able to play the game straight out of the box. This made them want to have the gameplay/control be bottle-necked by the casual gamer whom didn’t want to bother owning such a controller.

They built the game around tilting the Wii-mote sideways like a regular nintendo controller.

Like This Picture.

But, of course, even capcom knew that was awkward to use the left hand to handle the A/B buttons near the top of the wiimote… and they hoped that people would invest in a classic controler or gamecube pad or even a joystick so that people could have more precise control.

I guarantee you that if the Classic Controller came with every Wii from the start, or if nintendo didn’t have wii-motes and only used the standard type of controllers like PS3, then TvC would have been gameplay/button layout more like MvC2.

In my opinion… If MvC3 ends up resembling TvC too much, then I would guess it’s because they intend on porting it to the wii later to give wii owners a taste of the MvC experience. They would just have to turn down the graphics some to TvC quality.

I prefer 4 button, especially since i play on the controller (I can’t use a stick, it feels too weird). It’s hard for me to get my brain around using face buttons AND shoulder buttons for normal attacks, so in 6 button games, I just get rid of medium. In SF4 / SSF4 , this is my setup -> (360) ->

X : lp
Y: hp
A: lk
B: hk
LB: throw
LT: focus
RB: punch X 3
RT: kick X 3

I know mediums are important, but I’ve done fine with this setup.

Your SF4 set is almost like mine, I also have Focus on LT. I do throws and kick x3 manually, though.

X: lp
Y: hp
A: lk
B: hk
LB: mp
RB: mk
LT: Focus
RT: ppp

And I use the thumbstick. Happy with this set up.
