Because 4 buttons is so damn hard. Pressing lp and low kick twice to do a 4 hit combo is so hard.
it’s not hard, but is more easy with 3 buttons
more easy=more sales
They might as well make 1 button since its the easiest shit ever. Hell make it like those awful DBZ games where you press square 5 times to do big combos.
3 attack though.
And TvC was not meant as an evolution to MvC. It was meant as an ADAPTATION to the Wii’s awkward wii-mote controller. Sure, we can all get classic controllers, but Capcom wanted to make TvC to be played by every controller on the system… especially the main Wii-mote in a side-ways fashion. This meant they had to crop buttons.
really? I played TvC and beat it and decided i did not want to buy it. And that’s rare for me to not like a fighting game.
With TvC you can look at the controller the wrong way and dish out a super ultra combo. You can blow on the controller and whop out a 48hit combo.
With TvC you can air-juggle a super combo by simply dropping your controller onto the floor.
and guess what? Capcom did not get my money. I had more fun playing samurai shodown anthology
Yeah, and you can do a super combo with your entire team in MvC2 just by pressing 2 buttons.
That t sort of thing was never difficult in this series
Then why are the Wii Remote controls even more simplified? The game definitely wasn’t made with that controller in mind.
LOL NO. The Wiimote was tacked on as just a fun easy-mode way for totally new fighting game players to play the game. It had nothing to do with the button choices.
And there is plenty of depth to be found in the game even with the three-button system. Try to pop out a 48-hit combo meterless combo with Megaman and get back to me.
Too bad that there are a lot of people who will cancel out your non-sale with their sales.
After SF4, Capcom realized that they have to abandon the hardcore, otherwise they won’t get anywhere. We will all miss the fun hardcore things they used to do but we’re in the minority. The sooner you know that, the better you’ll feel.
Being able to do a 48 hit combo with Megaman doesn’t make the game deep.
If the game plays well, I don’t mind 3 buttons. I would like the original 6 attack buttons though. I could get use to MvC2 style as well, but that was the worst to me so far. Mainly because I played MvC1 so much to where pressing the same button for mediums was difficult to relearn. TvC had no button confusion for me, I didn’t play the game much though.
All I am worried about is if 2 of the buttons are [lp -> mp -> hp] [lk -> mk -> hk] and the third button being a dumb [1 button super]. I don’t think that will be how it works though, would suck using lk and lp as the only jump ins.
This entire MvC3 forum is full of fucking TvC shit and it’s honestly annoying as fuck. If you fucking like or want to play TvC, then go play TvC and post in the TvC forum. Why in the fuck do you literally fucking live in the MvC3 threads and shit up an otherwise fun discussion by consistantly bringing up another goddamn game?
My vote is easy: Fuck a TvC layout. MvC2 layout for me please.
Jesus, the game exists so you just need to deal with it and quit crying. Having the same control style does not make it the same game.
have is really taken you this long to figure out that anything seth says in an official context can be assumed to be total bullshit
The butthurt from MVC2 fanboys about every other fighting game in the Versus series outnumbers every post referencing TvC by about 3 to 1. Stop fucking whining. It’s embarrassing.
You do realize that sticks have 6 to 8 buttons on them, right? “Three normal attack buttons” doesn’t mean “Only three buttons work and the rest don’t do anything.”
I voted six but four can work for me.
I guess bison won’t be in this game with it’s all but confirmed retarded layout.
I hate how all the TvC fans come and try and force their game’s controls on another fanbases game.
Does Capcom really thiink that ALL casual players really care how the game’s controls are?
They’ll buy it regardless cause everything is exaggerated and scrubs will mash any way.
I really hope they mean 3 punches and kicks or have a separate menu to select different control schemes.
You won’t find me trolling around in a TvC forum. If I didn’t like another game in the VS series, then I just won’t play it.
I do happen to love MvC2 though, so naturally I’d hope its successor turns out great. TvC may have fans, but I assure you the game doesn’t have the legs that MvC2 does. Let’s see how many people will still be competitively playing TvC in ten years. It’s a fairly new game that a lot of us don’t embrace for various legit reasons. To find out MvC3 is coming out and then to constantly have to sift through this TvC shit in a fucking MvC3 forum is a little annoying.
Keep it classy and make this shit a 6 button layout, is that 2 much to ask? :looney:
Sorry couldnt get my scanner to work. Seriously go pick up the new GameInformer. This is all there. Ill post what they said and you be the judge:
All directly quoted.
-“MVC3 aims to knock down the wall of complicated controls and open up the field of strategic fighting to all comers. This means fusing the accessible controls of TVC with tried and true MVC2 gameplay.”
-“3 on 3 tag team combat returns, complete with the assists and team building structure of the previous title.** Veterans can look forward to alpha, beta, and hyper move cancels**.”
-simplified = launchers are now universally done with one button, the EXCHANGE button. “That’s not all the exchange button can do; by pressing it along with certain directions, players can slam opponents into the ground, leaving them susceptible to combo continuation.** Players can also hit the exchange button in midair to tag in other team members on the fly**.” You can also counter their exchange move by guessing which exchange to hit at the same time, ala, throw countering in tekken.
Theres the skinny. 100% legit.
ha ha. complicated controls? if you think mvc2 controls are complicated in any way, you need to really just stop playing fighters and go jump in front of a train. tvc controls are just that, tvc controls. why they couldnt just leave that be is beyond me. but its expected because everything in life in general is catered to the whiny stupid, and thats why people are so nostalgic of the 90’s in general. so im not shocked by them catering to the new **** trying to take over fighting games all of a sudden, when they will forever suck at them anyways. good shit yo
tvc’s controls never really bothered me in general, but a part of that was because it was a brand new game, so whatever, do new shit if you want capcom. but thats how you gonna do marvel? tell us bullshit like eliminating complicated controls. if they were so complicated, they would have never been mastered, and people would have abandoned the vs series a long time ago. the complexity of it all, from the strategies to the complex button presses at times was what kept people entertained, but now i get an exchange button to do aerial raid character switch ins. good shit
theyre trying to do tvc with mvc3. eliminate complex controls while looking for more gameplay depth, and not that tvc has no depth, but it didnt change anything capcom. then in tvc uas, they changed alot of shit to try to create more depth by making aerial raids more deadly, and weakening mad other shit, but it really didnt change much capcom. now we have a new game where supers are practically worthless other then to kill someone in a combo. you might as well do long fucking loops and conserve your meter for megacrashing everything, and its not like the og version was much different in that respect.
but its all good, cater to the scrubs. the scrubs who were nowhere to be found until sf4, but all of a sudden want want want. the scrubs who have 56 characters to choose from in mvc2, but only can find time to whine about the top tiers in the game, because they have no creativity to see how powerful other teams can be, nor can they just shut the fuck up and just have fun. good shit yo. im not saying mvc3 is just going to be complete and utter trash, but i just want to complain about the whole holding your hand thing that is going on nowadays in general. its fucking whack.
again i say for the millionth time. scrubs dont matter, because scrubs have been scrubs forever, mashing and complaining about everything. noobs only slightly matter, but at the end of the day, everyone has to start somewhere, and they need to shut the fuck up and man up like everyone else did. only the intermediate and advanced players will be the ones to hold a fucking game down for years and years. the assumption intermediate and advanced players dont want fun games, but just overly technical bullshit is complete and utter bullshit. our opinions matter way more then scrubby mic scrub who wants all his fighting games to hold his hand for him so he doesnt get comboed to death, or chipped for free.
we’ll have to see over time how this game develops, but i hope they know the community that kept your fucking game alive for a fucking decade ( and the vs series in general), bringing a new type of hype to the scene that has yet to be rivaled to this day in my opinion, will thoroughly disown mvc3 quickly and still play mvc2, letting mvc3 die with the scrubs who dont have the skill or patience to make mvc3 stick around for years to come.
seriously, i hope that is the most tvc mvc3 will get at this point, but we’ll see. so now that thats off my chest. ice cream anyone?
