MK1 is very broken, it should not be listed. Sonyas leg grab infinite? a 4 month old could pull it off. Almost as easy as noob saibots and rains infinites in MKT.
MKvsDC isnt anything special, its good. But I can honestly say its really not that great, its definitely a step in the right direction though. The online netcoding is terrible. Properties change instead of input/frame delay, which is 100 times worse.
In all honesty, MK2 and UMK3 are the only ones worth playing, and even then, i would just move on to greener pastures and stick with something more rewarding and worthwhile.

MORTAL KOMBAT ADVANCE!
…Sorry, I couldn’t write that with a straight face. :razzy:
Between MKD & MKA, I’d say go w/ MKA Premium Edition (it has UMK3 in it).
Best Mortal Kombat Games To Have
- MK2 (PS2 via Midway Arcade Treasures 2 or PS3/PSN)
- UMK3 (Kaillera, PS2 via MKA Premium Edition or XBOX Live Arcade)
- MKT (PSX or N64 Version)
- MK Gold (Dreamcast)
- MKA (PS2 or XBOX)
- MKD (PS2 or XBOX)
Another Acception:
*MK Shaolin Monks (PS2 or XBOX)
this thing is still open?
MK2, UMK3 and then you can stop trying. Any other MK is LOLnofun.

So last night I got a little burned out playing HDR and SFIV and I couldn’t sleep. So I did the unthinkable that any SF fan would do I downloaded and bought Ultimate Mortal Kombat 3 for xbox360. I remember back in the day I was good with the Ninjas i.e. Sub Zero and Scorpion. Back in 95 when the game came out SF Alpha wasnt out and Super Turbo was a hard game to find so I played Ultimate Mortal Kombat mainly because of Scorpion. I found it a pretty fun game and the new combo system once you get the hang of it is pretty crazy fun.
So when I played it last night against the dedicated ones online I was surprise how this game still holds up. For an MK game it’s fast and complicated. It had much depth.
I would consider this game a classic and I think people with MK skills should get on it like the old schoolers get on Super Turbo.
The Kabal and Sindel combos are sick! This game is a reminder that Mortal Kombat is actually a serious fighting game.
NECRO THREAD!!!
(there! I posted!)
FAKE EDIT: MKII is SO not the best MK game. that is all.
NINJA EDIT: Close thread pllleeeeezzzz

I say sub zero since he’s kinda like ryu:)
Much like the rest of the series, MK4 sucked huge. It was strangely appealing though. I really had a lot of fun playing it. Make sure you’re both high and with friends or it’ll seem like what it is. Crap.
Just one of those games that’s so bad it’s good.
MKD or MKA? No, just no, those are terrible! An older game? MKII and UMK3 easily. Instead of MKD and MKA, get MKDA and MKSM.
This is kinda how I would look at the games. Except they would be like this:
MKA = alpha version of game.
MKD = beta version of game.
MKDA = completed game.
MKSM kinda might be a fighting game w/ the versus mode, but eh, whatever.
I’ve read from MK sources like UlitmateMK.com that MK4 for the N64 is close to the arcade game. Is this true?
Sure its the best port of the game out there, but the only version of the game worth playing is the arcade Rv3.0. The game isnt great, but alot of fun.
I would play the arcade, if it was in an arcade around where I am (none whatsoever). Last I checked the arcade version is still not emulated. Is this still the case?

Isn’t the XBox360 version of Ultimate MK3 the arcade version 3.0? What’s differences between the revisions?
I was playing it online today. It’s funny how those guys online play this game at a high level still. It’s great.
I want to know this too. Don’t know too much about the different revisions.
Yes, still the case.
The 360 port is based on the final revision of UMK3, which is Rv1.2.
To see this for yourself, at the character vs screen, enter the kombat code 9-9-9 9-9-9 and it will show you the version your playing.
MK4!
Want proof?

one of the best MK was their earlier revisions of MK1 before the whole MK thing blew up. IIRC, i played rev. 1. anyway, here’s a vid of an earlier protoype version which gives a rough idea of what it was like:

now, you may look at this and think,“wow, that shit is broken, who would want to play that?”. actually, the reaction was quite the opposite. yes, every character had corner infinites, but they were easily avoided. yes, every character could perform 3-6 hit air juggles depending on the character and the set-up. nonetheless, it was hype in our arcade because we were seeing things we had never seen in any other arcade game at the time. i always got a chuckle when games like X-Men: COTA (and later MvC) dropped. it’s too bad Boon got rid of this in later revisions instead of trying to do someting with it.
