Which Character Do You Hate The Most

Try them, really, try them, I can only talk about Gief since I play him but I assure you that from the first match you’ll know that he’s not close to that definition, if they keep doing the same stuff and winning then it means that whoever ran into the same stuff really isn’t that good, but you can’t just autoplay against a good player, whether they use Seth, Ryu or Yang. If a player starts going into a flowchart on every situation then it’s obvious that they suck, but to call any character a flowchart character is an insult to the players who choose to use them.

I used to play Bison, so I guess I really did try that character. Out of the three mentioned, he is the only one with a diverse moveset. By try them do you mean attempt to use their 2-3 moves? They may have others, sure, but only 2-3 of them are worth using. They have a flowchart because they have to. By not having one, they couldn’t play the character.

Guile:
Far? --> Boom
Near? --> Boom
Close? --> Get away

Zangief:
Far? --> Get near
Near? --> Get close
Close? --> s.MP

If they cannot do this or are otherwise forced to do something else, they have to actually have to work. Guile cannot “flowchart” against Sagat or Gouken and thus it is a “bad” match-up for him. To play him in any other way, you are not maximizing the potential of the character. To play rushdown Guile against Ken isn’t going to get you as many wins as the turtle Guile style. And that is fine, don’t get me wrong. If you have to play a certain character a certain way then by all means do so. But do not sit there and tell me you had to work for that win and that it took “skill” to do what you did when it is a 6-4 match-up in your favor.

lol gief players, ive already proved to so many of my friends how easy he is… i picked him once and beat kids waaaaaaay better then me. I beat my buddy who beat gootecks at a tourney. I HAVE NO IDEA what im doing with the guy! giefs need to just accept it, I am a gief now and i do… i love the guy, hes so easy and lazy mode that i hes now my second main.

giefs are the worst players in the game, ive met to many who call everyone pussys because they run from them lol, and then theres the other majority that just can’t admit giefs easy mode, no matter how obvious it is. I can admit hes hard at HIIIIIIIIGHHH lvl’s like 4000 pp… but even then, ive scrubbed out allot of high ass lvl players, maybe its an online thing? i know when i watch pro ass pro’s its hard for gief, but thats about it.

btw, don’t argue with me, i won’t care, argue with floor.

So having a general idea means that they are flowchart characters? In that case every character is a flowchart character since they all have a general gameplan, they all have plans for whenever they are far, near and close and those tools change depending on the character they are facing.

Man, who knew that characters that have tools to wreck your character’s general gameplan are the one who give you the most trouble?.

Zangief is a footsie heavy character, he’s all about reading and counterpoking your opponent, he’s not all about getting close to spam his s.MP, due to not having a fireball or a move that goes all the way across the screen (i.e. Bison’s headstomp) and being slow, near or close are the only ranges he excels at. But again, saying that a character only gets played in a flowchart is diminishing the player’s skill, Zangief does not have one move that beats every option in the game, whenever a Zangief (or any character) counters or beats a move, it was the player, not Zangief’s (or that character’s) flowchart.

And noone wants to argue with you, Saltyscrub, arguing with people who need to lie on the internet isn’t fun.

thank you for respecting my wishes

Perhaps I didn’t convey the right point in the very first post of mine. The players that usually tend to play those characters are the ones that I “hate”. They win a 6-4 match-up easily and think they are good or the other person is “free” or they win a 4-6 match-up and it only bolsters their ego, to which they think they are good when they are actually a scrub. For Guile and Zangief at least, they either have really easy match-ups or really hard match-ups.

Spoiler

For you since, you play Zangief, you either have an easy time getting “in” and vortexing or getting the life lead (because your s.MP is that gdlk don’t even lie) or you have a hard time either because of superior pokes (few that there are) or zoning. The match-up I have experience with is Dudley vs. Zangief. 6-4 Zangief’s favor all day every day. If Dudley walks himself to the corner and tries to out footsie the Zangief, then he is playing to Zangief’s strong point and will most likely lose. Trying to out footsie a character with a vastly superior move is how Zangief gets those 6 wins. Zangief’s s.MP from the proper range beats just about every one of Dudley’s normals, so yes you actually can get close and press a single button and take 30% of his life with just that one button. The only way Dudley gets those 4 wins is by rushing down and taking major gambles and yet this is playing to Zangief’s strength. If Dudley goes for meaty setups, EX SPD beats them. Sure Dudley can neutral jump, jump away, short swing blow.

Neutral Jump:
beats SPD
loses to lariat, welcome to the vortex
loses to U2

Jump Away:
beats SPD
can lose to lariat
can lose to U2
advantage Zangief because both are standing

SSB:
beats SPD, doesn’t result in a knockdown
-2 or worse on block, eats SPD / U1, have fun guessing/getting OSed
loses to lariat, welcome to the vortex

If EX SPD hits then you can set up some crazy Oki. This would be an example of one of those “easy” wins. Dudley does have 6-4 match-ups but they are not easy by any means. I don’t mind having to work for my wins or losing a bad match-up or losing in general so long as I learn something from it. I completely agree with you that Zangief is all about reads and footsies. And if you are the one Zangief on the planet that doesn’t mash out SPD/Lariat during combos, blockstrings, or frametraps and claim to be good as a result of the mashing working, then I would be more than happy to play you and learn.

Blanka is one of the easiest characters to fight if you know how to fight him. I actually look
forward to fighting blanka players because I can usually punch above my weight against
that specific character.

2-3 frame reversals mashed on wake up. The only time I get hit with those now is when I give them the benefit of the doubt that they are not a scrub and realize that shit doesn’t fly, but I guess I’m wrong.

Keep mashin scrubs, these freeasymode wins are nice.

blanka, i really hate that ball…

bison ( dictator ) scissor kick

I hate Cody as his heavy punch jump into the tornado is sure fire easy combo. Ryu, Ken, Akuma as they are brainless characters.

I mainly play, Guile, Dhalsim and Zangief.

Bison is always such a boring fight, win or lose. He’s also really hard to pin down once I earn my knockdown (possibly the hardest in the game) so it’s quite frustrating.

Ever since Poongko did so well at Evo there have been such an influx of online Seths thinking they’re “making reads” by mashing DP every time you attempt to apply pressure. It’s annoying to deal with, but at least Makoto can murder him with frightening efficiency

:shy: This thread is gold.

Having some fun with this thread.

Cody is birthday free on wakeup. One knock down and his prison wallet is taken.

Gouken’s ultra 2 left uncharged is the weakest actually, does less than 300 damage last time I checked.

How is dudley random? If anything he is the least random character in the game - his 50/50 mix up game is not viable since
90% of the cast can mash out of it - so dudleys actual game revolves around frame traps/counter hit buffers which is not random at all - its a dudley player applying pressure with extreme precision + and execution. A good dudley player will never DP etc.

Akumas allways get me saly. Taking half my life with such a easy combo and then jump back fireballs… Oh geeze.

I LOVE how my names fairly big in there.

umad lmao thank you for this.

Heh yea, I tried to remove all the usernames and stuff but I was at work and missed a few. Maybe I’ll redo it…

god no! i am in there, you keep me in there!!
