I prefer battle lounge compare to ranked matches, not sure how i did it before but when you create a battle lounge, it will ask you if you want to rematch to save some time and hassle on waiting.
You create the room with a win requirement of a certain number of matches. I only do first to 3 sets in battlelounges with one other person for training.
