When should you just stop?

I’ll stop playing when everyone stops playing. And as long as you all keep playing and as long as I have competition I don’t see a reason to stop playing. No matter how good you think you are, there will always be someone better than you.

You mean, some people actually stop playing certain fighting games? Breaks are fine, but completely stopping, that’s insane!

I sleep and dream about 3S. Maybe I should play something else. Nah…

Most of you guys sound like you hit that wall were the game isn’t fun anymore, been there, and believe me, if you stop and take the time to analyze what you are doing wrong then you will begin to see the flaws in your game, and then you can grow from there.

constantly learning and improving yourself is the only way a game is fun, after that you just become a robot doing the samething over and over, and thats when you realize, “hey this isn’t that fun anymore”, or "why am i losing so bad( because your oppenent knows you like the back of his hand) "

XD funny!

i switch games when my friends get bored and want to play something else… like for a while they were into sc3, so i learned that [somewhat] then they liked tekken, then cvs2… then 3s, then sc3 again… >.< unfortunately my friends from school dont like ggxx, vf4 or kof >.<

When all copies of said game burst into flames at the same time.

I have a lot of fighters, and I find myself coming back to each one at least once every 2 months. Not saying to dedicate your time to every fighter at every waking minute ,but you may be at an arcade and see Neowave and want to get some matches in,or be at a friends and play some t5.

gotta stay sharp. :nunchuck:

or…at least remember the moves

C’mon…who hasn’t self-gratified at that Chun Li/Cammy one where Chun has the Camster from behind…

How did you forget Morrigan, that girl lives off other men!!! Chun Li with Mai equals top tier also.

You should never quit on fighting games!! Im not a quitter…thats what i say to people when they tell me to stop smoking!

Stop playing when you realize that all the comp. in your area has disappeared

If you stop playing just because there’s no competition, then you STARTED for the wrong reason (tourney-whore, everyone else was playing it, you just like beating other people, whatever). You CAN still go single-player on games you like.

yes, god forbid someone liking the competition that comes from playing a FIGHTING game.

I’m not saying that’s not cool, but if competition is your only reason for playing a certain game (what do you mean, he plays the game because he likes it? He doesn’t care if nobody else plays or likes it? That makes no sense!! He’s supposed to be only playing against other people or practicing in training mode! Something’s wrong with him…), maybe you need to re-evaluate your motivation. Do you actually like the game, or just going up against someone else? I may be a bit of a freak, but it’s no big deal whether I have a human opponent or not, no matter what game I play. If I like the game’s mechanics and the game is actually fun, yeah, gimme. If human interaction is your only goal…there’s this thing called “life”. PLENTY of human interaction there.

Look, just fuck it. I’m not interested in winning some argument here. I’m just stating why quitting a game makes no sense to me. I pick up a new game, I’m in it cuz the game is fun. I will keep coming back to said game, because I like the game. it’s also good to play against other players, but the game itself is the reason I play, not the prospect of kicking the ass of another player (not saying that I WON’T) It seems everyone else who picks up the same game is just jonesing to beat other players, and when those players move on, the game is tossed aside like a used whore. That’s just how it looks to me. If it’s something different, I’m sorry.
