Very interesting. Marvel is the most popular game in terms of spectators but its competitive player base is barely smaller than SF4.
I always love finding out what FG’s are hot outside of the USA.
UMVC3 is also really popular in Latin America and is gaining ground in Japan. The Latin Americans especially have been putting in work and Nemo beat both FChamp and ChrisG in money matches at EVO.
I think the smartest move Capcom could make is Make an Marval type game and only used Capcom characters, and create new characters that use the move sets of the Staples from the marval side. How hard would it be to make a character in armor who dose footdives, or a guy in a cape that moves like Mags, grab a mech and make it move like sent. Save that cash!
With Capcom current financial situation and the Marvel license gone not in a long, LONG time… if ever.
(Especially since Marvel is a way different company now then back in the days of MvC2)
Enough reason to lock this thread.
Like I’ve said before and other also did in this thread, best bet is an Capcom characters only game on an expanded UMvC3 engine.
That way there are no license issues and they can basicly update it to death like USF4 lol
