When is it good to get a second stick?

Preeeetty much this.

I’m ordering a Wii stick, modding it to work with 360 as well; I already have the 360 SoulCal TE. Why? BECAUSE I CAN

It’s fun to work on them. They’re pretty much toys.

i have one quality square gate and one cheap 8-way stick. I like to compare those two and see the difference in execution. though 720 motions are easier in the former

Square gates are 8-way. The misconception that square gates are somehow 4-way annoys me greatly.

The main reason I want more than one stick is for having friends over to play Stick vs Pad is unfair to the experienced stick player so having an extra stops cries of no fair. Collecting is also game. B15 makes some sticks that aren’t seen too often so I want one. Also important for tourney goers is the swag. Showing off your cool new stick can make a loss at a tourney more enjoyable. Mainly it is just because I like arcade sticks and want one to match my mood at the time.

I’m pretty sure he just meant an octagonal gate. Also @petran- the octagonal gates block off the corners a bit more than a square as seen in the article Narcowski posted which is why most tourney players use square.

I know what he meant, it’s just a huge pet peeve of mine for some reason.

Get another stick if there is a sale you just can’t pass up. And I don’t mean those dinky sales we see every week. I mean like a buy one get one kind of deal. I always bought sticks two at a time though. For PS3, and for 360. The 360 sticks were part of a buy one get one deal and the reason for two PS3 sticks was just being an asshole during the stick craze days and buying it cause it was on the shelf knowing damn well someone else probably needed it. But hey, karma caught up to me. Cause I ended getting a faulty stick and I just recently opened a 360 stick that I never opened and my medium kick doesn’t work. Tried taking a look inside but I am going to have to do a little more research to get them working. Bummed though.

sorry for the confusion.
though it doesnt have any specifications, it is this.It looked octagonal to me.But now that I read it it is 2-way.

Shoryuken motions are a lot easier on it, especially in SFII. I think using it together with the Hori buttons would make it even better. Unfortunately it gives me blisters. Also 720 motions are very difficult

I use it with keyboard keys. It has also an DA-15 to USB adaptor in case I want to use older joysticks. Unfortunately the old Microsoft Sidewinder has issues.

I got two Eightarc Fusions. One for me, one so the other guy does not have an excuse.
