Sure, it’s like not speaking ill of an abusive parent. We all know it was fucked up, but there are too many complicated feelings there. I understand.
Battletoads is a beautiful delicate flower.
Battletoads/Double Dragon wasn’t fucked up. It was a good beat 'em up. Somebody must’ve told you that wasn’t?
He’s talking about Battletoads, not the crossover.
Awesome! I look forward to this one.
Yeah, that remake of the 2nd game looked like amateur made crap, not unlike the stuff the Sega Ages crew spits out( i love Sega and all, but most of those “ages” remakes were kinda lame- Though alien syndrome fun).
It’s much better than any BT or DD game easy, classic genesis goodness:tup:
Backgrounds look good but holy hell character models look horrid, THIS is what they call neon?
yeah, those characters look like ass lol. Animations seem meh, but it IS indeed DD lol.
I will probably give this a whirl.
Why are new games so… Floaty.
Why is this not about Streets of Rage?
Because Double Dragon is the OG of the Beat’em up genre. Long before the likes of Streets of Rage & Final Fight showed up, Double Dragon(and its early relative- Renegade) were on the streets whooping ass.
Sadly in today’s era the Arcade style beat’em up has been left behind. Shame, as its such a simple & sweet concept that resulted in much gaming goodness in the early years.
Well if that’s the case we might as well talk about Kung Fu master then.
No but seriously, make this thread about Dungeon and Dragons lol.
Am I the only one that thinks the game looks absolutely horrible? It’s like they stole the models from the QWOP game.
It doesn’t look that bad…doesn’t have nearly enough Neon though lol. I’m more concerned about the gameplay.
The Double Dragon 2 remake, now THAT looked bad.
Technos, the company that made Double Dragon, went bankrupt and belly up a decade ago. I wonder who owns the intellectual property.
It’s funny to see how Nishiyama is still in the business after all this time. I think all he knows how to do is be involved with fighting games. I guess the only way to get a real Double Dragon is to get Dimps and Plophet(founded by Yoshihisa Kishimoto) to work together on it. Not that I know if Plophet is even that kind of company. Dude might have started a used vaccuum company for all I know.
Kung Fu master had its time in the spotlight, but it was Double Dragon that really jump started the beat’em up genre.
Yeah so anyway, anyone ever read the STREETS OF RAGE comics written by Mark Millar?
A small company called Million
I love Bimmy and Jimmy Lee!
Double Dragon/BattleToads/Final Fight/Streets of Rage.
DO EET!
