Anywho, HUUUUUGE fan of double dragon (except the [media=youtube]kMg6_IXCjo4[/media])…I looked around and found zero info on new double dragon games.
Anybody else wish they made the ultimate beat-em-up? Maybe spur capcom into making a crazy new Final Fight game?

Double Dragon, the original Taito arcade machine version, yes.
All other versions, no.

^^ were the franchise’s best games. So there was a lot of Double Dragon Goodness in the early years.
However, I don’t think we’ll see any new ones anytime soon, if at all, because Double Dragon is a game series that is old-school to the bone. Not going to be appreciated by today’s gamer.
Sure stuff nearly as old like mario is still kicking, but the gaming potential with Mario is so much more versatile(racing, RPGs, puzzel titles, adventure, etc). With Double Dragon-- the classic beat’em up is your only worthwhile flavor.
Today’s titles demand a whole lot more. Maybe some developer could put together a neat arcade download game, but the series will come anywhere near the pinnacle of mainstream greatness it once enjoyed.
Best i could see is a next-gen beat’em up in the vein of Clover’s godhand being made, but even if its fun as all hell like Godhand was, it’ll be scoffed at by the majority in the end for not being “deep” enough.
Just thought I’d mention, they did re-do DD a few years back for XBLA.
I heard it wasn’t that great.
But anyway
If you haven’t played Double Dragon on GBA you are missing out on the perfect version. It’s an awesome mix of Double Dragon 1 and 2. Double Dragon 3 arcade sucked so hard. NES version was alright but kind of bland.
If we see any new Double Dragon game it’ll be nothing short of a miricle. The game and the company are probably done forever.

Megaman Maverick Hunter X for PSP: Example of a fully 3D title, with 2D side-scrolling gameplay that functioned perfectly. It can be done.

It was a remake of MMX, i think it was garbage, but then again i think all MM games are over rated
Double Dragon and it’s storyline wouldn’t fit in the Capcom universe, or at least with Final Fight/Street Fighter. At best, they’re more akin to the first couple of Fatal Fury games as a side-plot to the scrolls Geese is after, when you think about it. Considering SNK was able to bring that one guy in Regulation A or whatever, I’d like to see Billy/Jimmy team-up for a KOF bout.
I’m not trying to be smart or nothing, but what Mario series or game falls under the adventure category? Are you talking about Mario is Missing?
I’d like to see a new Double Dragon game. I am one of those people that didn’t think 3 was all that bad. It wasn’t a great game by any means, but it was definitely a step backwards from what 2 was. 3 arcade on the other hand was straight shit.

Appears to be a remake of the first one. Marion looks more like a whore in this game. At least this one looks better than that shitty remake of the second game shown last year
I just need a graphically-updated version of the nes DD2, and that’s it. None of whatever that shit was on 360. Keep it simple, just pump up the graphics.
Anyone ever play Battletoads/Double Dragon? It sounded like a recipe for disaster, but it didn’t look bad…certainly can’t be worse that Battletoads.
