Maybe the price of the venue? Some people can’t just plan off of dates. We need to know how much money we need by these dates too. Even if the hotel isn’t confirmed yet, is there a price range per room that you could maybe give us? An estimate?
Last time the room was i think $150 @ GVR. Some hotels are as high as $220 but i doubt they will be evo locations. I am planning for $150, and it ends up being a $80 room consider it a bonus. It would be good to keep extra on the card anyway in case they pull the security deposit thing out of nowhere again.
The shuttle is a bit trickier, since i guess it could be anywhere from free to a $50 cab ride both ways.
THIS is what concerns me… I call BS on GVR last year for that ish…
Most hotels have shuttles all day long, so I’m not really worried about that. I plan on coming in during the day, so I should be good.
I, for one, am glad that it is NOT at GVR this year. I sent my joysticks and system ahead of me by UPS after speaking with them regarding what to put on the label. First, they lied and said they never received it. Then when I got the tracking information, they claimed that no one signed for it. Then when that was exposed, they tried to bait and switch me for cheap comps. When I refused, they told me that they would open an “investigation” and if they did not find my package, they would compensate me for the loss. While I was there, they would comp me for the time at the tournament (not counting taxes or the price of the room not during the actual tournament time- I came a day early). During this time, I was shuttled around to the hotel manager, the hotel liason for the tournament, then to the security chief. I spent more time with these people and filling out forms than being at the tournament! After I left, I tried calling them and they denied ever offering to pay for my lost package. I was out 2 MAS sticks, games and a DC. They could care less.

On another note, they’re offering a shitload of deals on expedia to Vegas. Knowing which hotel it’s going to be located will really help those coming wayyyyy out of state(and those coming in from out of the country), especially if this hotel actually has travel deals.
We’re not going to get a deal, since they don’t even have a location set yet…
Let’s face it, organization was sloppy this year and we’re going to have to do last-minute trip planning no matter what…
I wonder how Toyota would feel if they knew their 65k investment doesn’t even have a location yet…
I’m happy they’re even holding this at all, and I really want to go. I just hope things are ironed out in the proper amount of time. And I don’t want to have to guess which hotel it’s going to be at, because I’m not very fond of travelling along the strip with my luggage in tow.
