casual match i took this weekend at the arcade in beijing shuangjing (双井) VIVA Shopping Mall (the only spot for 3rd strike in beijing)
that’s where MOV, BillyKane etc. all went.
if your in beijing, please feel welcome to drop by on fridays and saturdays (around 6pm there is guaranteed competition), level is definitely the best all over china, with the posted match NOT being played by the top players. the playerbase is only like max. 20 people though.
My friends moving to China early next year, Tiajin to be exact, is there any 3s there or should he just visit Beijing when he can?
I will go to Beijing soon. When? It is a mystery for now. 
Tianjin to Beijing is a really short trip by train (ride takes a half hour lol) so he should just go to beijing, I don’t think there’s anything like a community around 3s in Tianjin, at least none that I’ve heard of.

they have a greatly talented young mak player here, who goes by the name of Xiao Zheng. they told me, it was him who gave MOV a headache.
oh, and they put some new parts (sanwa) in the machine some months ago, so it’s still pretty comfortable to use. only one cab though^^

I played in Shanghai (Lie Huo Arcade) two weeks ago, but it wasn’t crowded at all and the level compared to beijing definitely weaker (japan 10pts, beijing 7pts, shanghai 5pts).
