it’s tie between rachel’s from blazblue, the (green)chinese rotating background from capcom vs snk 2 and deejay’s from super streetfighter turbo.

I love how there’s no music on this stage, just the sound of the building burning. The stage was also a little darker than it appears here when the game is played on a CRT.

yeah, i agree,the ambient background sounds (as opposed to music) coupled with the fighting sound effects really put the ambiance of the SNK weapons-based fighters on another level. That stage had the crackle of the burning wood and the flamelights flickering on the characters, etc… I’d really like to see this stuff catch on a little more today
Rose SFA2 Stage music came on for first time when I was pretty buzzed. That shit made it my favorite stage. Secret field on A2 is cool too.
Least favorite either chun li table stage on 3S or Elenas, awful music. For some reason on my old tv the elephants on dhalsims stage got wickedly loud despite tv being low. That always pissed me off.

The cherry blossom stage in MBAA, the fountain with all the lights in Tekken 6, and the Tekkaman Blade stage in TvC.
