What's wong w/Wong?

You couldn’t be more wrong. Go back to your corner and be quiet 2010’er.

He’s calling Justin out for an extremely common technique for fighting games. That’s be like me saying "oh my god, I hate Daigo, look at his game play. HE THROWS FIRE BALLS.
HE THROWS FIRE BALLS.
HE THROWS FIRE BALLS.
Look at every game he plays, he’s always using hadokens! It’s sooooo borrrring!

I fucking love this movie.

Your ignorance is still showing. You should probably cover that up before people really start to notice.

You could say that about 95% of SRK in general.

Sorry, should I edit my post like you did? How is my understanding that you shouldn’t hate someone because of a perfectly reasonable play style ignorant? I’m not even saying I turtle, but I’m not about to hate somebody for doing it.

You said he had never been to a serious fighting game tournament but he had been to several evos, and was known for being a really good sent player in MVC2 IIRC. I think you should money match, and settle it, LIKE GENTLEMEN.

Sorry, I didn’t recognize the name. However, based on that comment alone, I assumed he wasn’t a serious player.

(wonders how many people have noticed the typo in the title versus the amount who just mentally filled it in)

Uh, I don’t think you’re going to get a definitive answer here since you’d pretty much need to ask the people who think there’s something “wrong” with him and those people aren’t exactly going to tell you in sensible terms. I’m pretty sure it’s a combination of his having been a notorious turtle, people being jealous of his ability, him playing pretty much everything–I dub this The Wolverine Effect™–& thus being everywhere while being good at it and people just generally trolling/being stupid. It seems like a pretty obvious answer if you think about it, which is why Banana Weed’s one-word answer is doubtless correct in at least capacity. Pretty much anyone well-known is going to have some hate, even if it’s completely undeserved, just because people can’t stand to see other people do well. Fact of life.

I couldn’t really care much less about Justin Wong myself one way or the other. I would suggest you feel the same way about getting a definite answer to this (if it’s bugging you as much as it seems for you to have made a thread about it) and just ignore the nadir of human intelligence that Youtube comments often occupy.

easy

wong is chinese

srk is filled with white otakus who jerk off to hentai. angered that the best fighting game god in the UNIVERSE is not japanese, they rage and cry nerd tears.

PS: fuck daigo

A lot of the internet masses think Justin Wong is fat, so they’re predisposed to hate him. Additionally, their first exposure to Justin was at the Gamestop tournament, where he was recorded yelling at Mike Ross during their fight. It was friendly shit talk of course but no one cares enough to look at it that way.

I honestly haven’t gotten why people hate on Justin as much as they do… I am relatively new to the scene as well. For a while I thought it was because he played a more turtle style, but then SF4 came along and he played Rufus, who is essentially a rush down character. Now then they started hating him for saying Adon is ass (all though some people could call that exposing him).

Now that I have been in the scene for a while, I understand Justin is pretty cool… Anything goes in this game. I remember saying one comment back in the day like “Oh Justin sucks, he will never beat Daigo in anything ever.” Now that I am a little more experienced I guess, I realize that isn’t the point. Honestly I believe the dude is a good player, even though I don’t like his play style or choice of characters. The hate mostly stems from jealousy…and Daigo nuthuggers or DSP fans (they hate him for some reason as well lol)

Justin could never win another major ever again and i will always love him for jill double snapping dark prince, cable 1 pixel comeback, and techrolling chris schmidts hailstorm

first of all, im not THAT Deus.
but i’ve run into him cuz hes also a socal player.

second, your a goddamn pussy for retracting your opinion if all it takes is just a name for you to baaaa like a sheep and jump over a fence.

thread starter asked why people disliked jwong. and i gave him exactly why i think people hated him.
ive attended evos 2k4-2k7 (thats right before the daigo era [or more accurately i was THERE WHEN IT HAPPENED], and before the youtube+sf4 era) and i boo’d justin wong when i was there, and i know why i did it, and i did it with a room full of people doing the same thing.
i played in socal where rtsd was a mantra.
ive won three tourneys in my time.
i dont know why they hated him, but i can guess.

you 2010 little dipshit. people hated justin wong before you ever youtubed “street fighter 4 combovideos”, and that hate trickled down to this current era. you werent there sitting evo after evo watching some guy lame out game after game making people LITERALLY FALL ASLEEP IN THE CROWDS. before there was match commentary, before he made crazy big comebacks, justin wong and ricky ortiz were the king and queen of lame as fuck. BUT YOU WERENT THERE YOU LITTLE SHIT.

check my join date, i been here awhile. check ruins join date if you dont believe what i say, cuz apparently he agrees with what i said. you havent been here long enough to know why things are they way they are. you dip your toe into the water and wonder how the waves got there when there have been people swimming in that goddamn ocean for years and years before you.

i fucking hate your generation of players. you all jumped into this scene and start talking like you know all about this and all about that and misquote facts, and its impossible for all the old posters to flame you shitheads cuz theres too many retards to put in their place.

anyone in this forum before the daigo parry remembers how people would get called the fuck out and get flamed for pages and pages. everyones all nice now and what do we get for it? shit heads that think they know everything. it used to be you wouldnt post until you knew what you were talking about because SOMEONE WOULD CALL YOU THE FUCK OUT AND FLAME YOU UNTIL YOU WERE ASH BECAUSE THEY KNEW WHAT THE FUCK THEY WERE TALKING ABOUT. now everyone thinks they know something.

I’m not allowed to formulate my own opinion on fighting game techniques because you’re under the false impression that SF4 was the first fighting game I played? I’ve been in the genre for a long time myself. I’m sorry if a sarcastic remark from a person you think can’t have an opinion hurt your ego so fucking bad that you feel the need to call me a “pussy”,“dipshit”,and “little shit”. Maybe I don’t have the event experience that you do, but that hardly makes my opinion any less valid than yours.

I mean for gods sake, what kind of assbackwords thought process is that? I guess we might as well just stop the fighting game genre because NOBODY is allowed to speak their mind unless they were at a tournament, in person, booing at them. How about you grow the fuck up, and make a real response you little baby.

And I didn’t retract my opinion, I said I was sorry for insulting you. I was wrong on that part of it, and I said I was sorry. Way to look beyond that, and act like a toddler throwing a hissy fit.

the topic of this thread: "I watch top player’s to learn better the more I’ve notice a certain hatred towards Justin Wong. "

my response: “he was good cuz he was lame. he was hated cuz he was lame.”

your response: "He’s calling Justin out for an extremely common technique for fighting games. That’s be like me saying “oh my god, I hate Daigo, look at his game play. HE THROWS FIRE BALLS.”

your response when you think i’m someone else: “Sorry, I didn’t recognize the name. However, based on that comment alone, I assumed he wasn’t a serious player.”

[you wanna kiss my ass when you think im someone else, well i was a serious player. ive won 3 tourneys in socal. make a list of the most active scenes in america. if socal isnt there, youre a liar]

my response to you: “you werent there sitting evo after evo watching some guy lame out game after game making people LITERALLY FALL ASLEEP IN THE CROWDS. before there was match commentary, before he made crazy big comebacks, justin wong and ricky ortiz were the king and queen of lame as fuck. BUT YOU WERENT THERE YOU LITTLE SHIT.”

your repsonse to me after i corrected my identity: "I’m not allowed to formulate my own opinion on fighting game techniques because you’re under the false impression that SF4 was the first fighting game I played? "

my response to that: NO YOURE NOT. YOU WERENT THERE WHEN PEOPLE WERENT HATNG WONG FOR ILLOGICAL REASONS. i dont hate wong now cuz he doesnt play lame anymore. you dont formulate your own opinions cuz you were so ready to change your opinion when you thought i was a “famous” player. on that same note of “formulating opinions” for some reason im not allowed to formulate the opinion on someone of “I HATE HOW HE PLAYS, HE IS MAKING ME FALL ASLEEP AND I DONT WANT TO SEE HIM PLAY, SO I WANT HIM TO LOSE.”??? you must have thought there was something wrong with my opinion to denounce it, so how is your horse higher than mine? i dont think you have a true opinion.

why dont you just go back to kissing my ass when you thought i was someone else? for some reason my opinion was valid when i was someone else but now its not? youre fucking starstruck. there was a time when these players werent celebrities like they are now, but enemies to be overcome.

Way to over simplify, and completely miss the point I was making. There is a difference between asskissing, and apologizing. You would understand this if you had any shred of being polite in you. But whatever I’ll play your game.

the topic of this thread: "I watch top player’s to learn better the more I’ve notice a certain hatred towards Justin Wong. "
-This isn’t the topic of the thread, it’s him explaining the question of why do people hate Justin Wong. Right off the bat, you can’t even read.

my response: “he was good cuz he was lame. he was hated cuz he was lame.”
-This quote leaves out the fact that 95% of your post is you bitching about his play style, and the fact that he’s boring. It’s not a fucking movie, it’s a game.

your response: "He’s calling Justin out for an extremely common technique for fighting games. That’s be like me saying “oh my god, I hate Daigo, look at his game play. HE THROWS FIRE BALLS.”
-Completely legitimate. The funny thing is, you haven’t even addressed this point because you don’t like the fact that you’re irritating whining is the same this 12 year old SF4 players do.

[you wanna kiss my ass when you think im someone else, well i was a serious player. ive won 3 tourneys in socal. make a list of the most active scenes in america. if socal isnt there, youre a liar]
-Again, I was being polite, not kissing ass. If you had told me that you have played in any tournaments, win or loss, I would have apologized. I still don’t know who you are, so why would I ass kiss?

my response to you: “you werent there sitting evo after evo watching some guy lame out game after game making people LITERALLY FALL ASLEEP IN THE CROWDS. before there was match commentary, before he made crazy big comebacks, justin wong and ricky ortiz were the king and queen of lame as fuck. BUT YOU WERENT THERE YOU LITTLE SHIT.”
-Everybody has a start. I mean, I guess you should hate every fighting game player because at some point in their life they were a scrub. I assumed we were talking about modern Justin Wong, not times before I could even hold a controller. I agree with you that I wasn’t there, and I can’t critique that Justin, but you shouldn’t hold that against me. I critique the Justin that I have seen play. We were talking about two different time periods, your melt down was hardly needed.

why dont you just go back to kissing my ass when you thought i was someone else? for some reason my opinion was valid when i was someone else but now its not? youre fucking starstruck. there was a time when these players werent celebrities like they are now, but enemies to be overcome.
-I never retracted my point. I agreed that my remark was wrong, because you had in fact played at tournaments(and fairly well, from what you’ve told me). I still don’t agree with you, I still think you’re acting immaturely, and I still think that hating a player for turtling(especially when it’s early on in their career) is down right retarded. I can’t possibly be star struck, I have no clue who you are. I’m not saying you need to be a Mike Ross for me to respect you, I’m just saying I’m not about to ass kiss somebody I don’t know. I’m sure you’re good, but that doesn’t change a damn thing. Get over yourself.

Desu you make me giggle, you sound so insecure about a join date on a forum.

It’s like sports fans dogging down on certain players in what ever professional team sport. They nit pick things and dwell on the negatives that the player they are targeting on has. Yet, in reality, they could not even come close to the skill that the player has. My two cents.

Lol at the concept of a Before Daigo Parry era, and After Daigo Parry era. That video sent in a wave of scrubs, me and my friends included.
