Which is why it’s a bad idea for Wolvie.
Sure, Wolverine can’t get a free combo from Vajra, but Doom sure as hell can, and Vajra is just a much better neutral assist than Rapid Slash, and I still believe that Hiryu is a better anchor than Vergil, so I think Hiryu is just much better for the team overall. That said though, I actually haven’t been playing or following Marvel recently so I might just be talking out of my ass here. Anyone care to enlighten me on why Vergil would be better?

I agree with the former, and the latter is arguable, but if you’re going to say stuff like “Hiryu is just much better for the team overall” when, of everyone on your team, the point character is the one who can’t use take full advantage of it, then you probably are just talking out of your ass.
A Wolverine team is bad if he can’t get a pickup off his OTG into Fatal Claw loops. Vajra doesn’t let him do that, and most of your hits are gonna start from Plasma Beam so you’ll end up doing a bunch of infinites or resets which is no bueno.
Yes Vajra is better for Doom, but Rapid Slash is not bad for him. It builds some very BS incoming option selects and helps him zone. It doesn’t have the vertical control of Vajra obviously but you have to make some sacrifices to help your point character. Also Vergil is a better anchor than Strider by far in my opinion.
