"WHAT'S MY NAME NYKUGH!" Boondocks Season 4 thread

Not the best Tom centric episode but I enjoyed it. And did Uncle Ruckus say mixed kids are eating for two races? LMAO!!!

Tbh the animation took a downgrade. But bits of the Boondocks’ original flavor is still shining through so id still be tuning in of course.

Run the Jewels was playing in the ep2 preview. adultswim is just awesome.

liked it. was nervous about the season with the aaron gone but it seems like its gonna turn out fine.

I just wanna do your wife thats all. Hell you aint even cheating on her

It was a good episode, although a little inconsistent. I though Tom shaped up after Slickback mentored him but I guess it wasn’t a permanent fix lol. Also, since when did Riley get all acrobatic? Doin flips and shit to kick the light switch lmao!

I can’t believe I missed Boondocks for RAW, shit was boring.

Gonna have DL this and watch tommorow when I get off work

Well that’s not in Tom’s nature. He’s a good guy and most guys like that won’t stay bad for long, which is a good thing. Also, the number of ass whoopings Riley took from Huey there was no way in hell he wouldn’t pick up a few pointers. LOL!!

Meh episode.

This episode was mehh. I can’t wait for the next episode

Good episode.

I was expecting/hoping for a more “we’re back” style grand entrance but this was still a good ep. Even if they didn’t want to start big, I feel like this episode would have worked best later in the season, and that they should have started with something more ridiculous(which they have a surplus of apparently, judging by the season 4 trailer).

I like both Tom and musician episodes so I might be a little biased or whatever, though. I laughed out loud a few times.

7.5/10

It’s the same old show, thankfully, even without Aaron, which is surprisingly good.

“I swear on my abs, nigga.”

It’s Ep 1 of a long LONG overdue new season, this is a GOOD sign that’s considered solid so far, IMO.

Started off slow but picked up towards the end. Not all out funny but a cool episode. Kind of glad it isn’t just all out random shit starring boondocks characters I thought it’d be (if that makes any sense, it was kinda going that direction in S3).

Was I the only one laughing too damn hard when white boy in convenience store was dancing? Incredible how in animation it replicates the absurdity flawlessly.

Otherwise, “Eh” as Huey said in S0301 and in this thread. Gary Anthony Williams (Ruckus) needs no script, god he’s brilliant

“No, YOU want to meet Pretty Boy Flizzy, because you want to meet him and…DO him!!”

Lost it.

Animation has taken a slight downgrade, but that makes it look more like most anime, so that’s fine.

Here’s how:

Spoiler

Torrent nyyyyuuuuuggggaaahhhh

animation sucked. they kept making that weird fucking face even when it was not necessary too, and ruckus lost some weight in the transition to this new animation. i dont know if they are using the same company or not, but that shit is off point.

i dont know what to take from the episode. that chris brown gets fucked up a lot, does stupid shit, sometimes staged shit, but at the end of the day hes still a pretty good guy? the writing just seemed a bit all over, and without solid direction. it just seemed like a poorly done version of the r kelly episode, that ended up a bit more misogynistic then i think intended. like chris brown shitted on women for having no self respect, then toms wife was acting all out, and he didnt get her fully back until he encourage/let tom whoop his ass infront of his girl to turn her on. lol wut. eh. having toms wife just act like a fucking groupy slut again was entertaining, but she didnt really learn her lesson. i mean, when you create an episode that is going to be r kelly mixed with usher, you need to come at it correct. it seemed like it was written by some cornballs trying to immitate aaron, and trying to understand black culture.

the beginning scene with the white cops felt like classic boondocks, then it started to just “average” out after that. a weak start for fans already on the fence since the creator wasnt there for this entire season. i think there was a better way to write about chris browns situation then that. yeah it ended with an up note like, eh, i guess chris brown isnt all bad, but i just thought it was poor writing.

**how i would have wrote it. i would have made it that chris brown (flizzy) was coming into town and maybe grandpops won some tickets via the radio to the concert and a meet and great. pops was excited to go to meet some young ladies, and riley wanted to tag along. huey preaches to them about chris browns antics and lyrics of so called rnb, comparing it to rnb greats of the past. no one listens, and riley shits on rnb legends like marvin gaye. toms wife doesnt like flizzy, but tom caught her listening to him, and they get into a conversation of hasnt it been long enough since the “rihanna” thing, and she compares it to when she caught tom watching porn or something, and she forgave him, to which tom replies how thats not equal (because a lot of chris brown apologist make weird equal signs for what he has done compared to other stuff that isnt even on the same level.lol). eventually we get a moment of chris brown explaining why he is the way he is, and everyone feels bad for him, then he does some dumb ass shit infront of them, and the overall message is clear, that while time might have passed on the rihanna thing, it is different for him being that he has been raised in this fame since he was 16, but overall, he needs to just get his shit together and stop being a dick. **

bam, great episode right there. obviously minus the details, but you get to humanize chris brown, while understanding that he is kinda just being a dick, with sub plots of toms wife listening to flizzy, the fans that adore flizzy, how rnb has gone to complete shit, and grandpa getting a little cutie pie who was just using him for flizzy tickets. im a genius. lol

the episode just seemed written by a bunch of out of touch black folk, or harvard grad white people without an imagination, or even much knowledge of chris brown outside of him attacking rihanna. like, they even painted his music wrongly. while chris brown does have raunchy records, his hits arent like what they were naming off at all, and many of his album tracks arent like that shit from the latest r kelly album. chris brown makes fairly normal music, and they painted him as some 2 chains version of chris brown.

episode was a 1/10. it had the opportunity to be a classic up there with the r kelly and usher episode (because those are related to this episode the most), and was just culturally irrelevant.

i will not give boondocks a pass for just being boondocks. it has a standard to live up to, and if you arent capable of living up to that most basic standard, then im gonna have to shit on it when need be.

its kinda sad though. smh.

I was expecting a new into theme beat but it looks like they mixed season 2 and 3

the animation does seem very off, not sure what was going with it as some scenes where smooth and others looked unfinished… hopefully it gets better and im not what was going on with the random stills of expressions

You niggas bitching about animation, this is boondocks, want good animation take your ass back to disneyland

^

THAT
Also, It’s episode 1 folks, and it was well-written anyway, apparently.
Ease up, lol. The fact that it’s good after a long hiatus is an excellent sign!

isnt this the last season?
