What you learned at EVO thread

I also learned that S groove can be a competitive groove. Aside from watching Dr.B in vids, I didn’t really get to see too many S players. When I went to EVO, I saw alot of ppl using S. It CAN compete.

lol, i remember that. you were one in a million who actually picked eagle, so i had to say something:lol:

yep, that’s popo187. he did play C-honda, pretty good too. i played A-blanka or eagle/sakura/bison the majority of the time, with some C-ken/chun li/blanka also in casual play.

peace

PS- what else did you guys learn strategy wise?

I called them the “popo brothers” when they were sitting next to each other when we were chilling in the secret area on the first floor of the tournament area.

Thx Nick…The S-Groove Nation is on the Rise…just imagine all the un-seen crazy shit that it can do…ya’ll better watch out!!!

     -B.

Try charging during mid-combo or after you go for a low attack and it gets blocked for a reset. It’s fun screwing with people like that.
Like…

Kyo:
cr. short x2, charge tap x2, cr. short , qcf+short x2.
or…
cr. short, st. jab, throw, charge tap bait, dodge, super

lol

throw, ggpo

They were just examples. No need to PMS over it.

throw, ggpo

Goddamnit, I wish people would stop saying that. Anyway, good job. Now this thread sucks.

throw, you got served

jesse that av is the funniest thing i’ve ever seen.

AZUMANGA DAIGO.

word.

lol, the 3S music threw people off just enough that we didn’t have too many people there when we were secretly playing cvs2:lol:.

ANYWAYS

ok, here’s what else i learned. FINISH YOUR CC’S IF YOU MESS UP. for example, against fubarduck- i hit a crossup mk with sakura, crouching short, crouching jab, CC, standing short, standing mk, sho…but i only get one uppercut. so after i come down, i do standing jab, then try and super jump mp, although that will NEVER hit.

so instead, i learned to do standing jab, fierce uppercut, mp uppercuts to the corner, kick super. you can also do a mp uppercut AS SOON AS you land from the missed fierce uppercut, but i like to do standing jab for whatever reason. you’re passing up free damage if you just let them drop.

also, i like to do blanka’s midscreen electricity into CC because i have the timing down very well (basically all you do is SEE the electricity hit, then look directly AT blanka, and immediately after he recovers from the electricity, activate). so against cole, i hit my electricity, activate, do standing fierce, whiffed jab ball, standing jab, super jump fierces…which are barely out of range and don’t hit. so when i got home, i just looked at kcxj’s blanka thread again, and he recommends doing that series twice, which makes it a LOT easier. i don’t think i’ve missed it since then. here is the best way IMO (from kcxj’s blanka guide)…

RC electricity, CC, [s.HP, whiff jab ball] x 2, s.LP, [super jump forward, HP x 2] x n, etc…

peace

PS- could you guys please contribute something productive or just not post? this is a pretty decent thread. i’m especially interested in what buktooth and kcxj learned. thanks.

What I learned…

Dont play P2 side in that arcade’s puzzle fighter.

Put the pressure on and never let up.

I really need to practice against those same pressure strings.
