Before they announced the hit advantage changes to Adon’s cl.st mp I remember them saying something about changing it’s pushback. That, plus considering the many times they mentioned hitbox and frame changes to some of his normals, I’m sure cl.st mp will be an easy way to hit confirm cr.lk, cr.mk or cr. mp. Although, cl. hp hit confirms into cr. lp or st.lp… Regardless, cl. st mp is 5 frames, so it’ll be good to use when fishing for counter hits.
using close st.MP is all new to me. Someone explain its purpise?
It sucks in Super. It’s -6 on block and -1 on hit currently. It is fast, and cancel-able. It reminds me of shoto close strong. But even shoto close strong is -on block because how fast it is and it being cancel-able. Basically, in AE, when Adon get’s someone to block a jump in or in a meaty set up situation, close strong is going to be bread and butter.
It also poses range problems when you link it and the link is character specific (yeah I know, WTF), and even against some characters you COULD do crossup then c.lk s.mp but you get the far version in various conditions, which sucks.
If c.lp recovers faster that means stand MP would be reliable after a crossup, maybe, and if it recovers faster it means you can fish for counterhits after it is blocked.
In the end it really depends what you can combo off and from it. It will depend on range and there’s probably gonna be character specific things about it too.
Thing is, about frametraps, adon is not great at comboing crouchers, that’s why the stand HP traps rule, it puts them standing after you catch a tech with it. I can’t see stand MP being as useful in this case but we can only speculate anyway, we’ll see.
I was seriously hoping for U1 to have juggle capabilities when used as an anti-air. Would of been cool to be able to U1>EX RJ against jumpers in the corner. Ah well.
I am really shocked that the devs buffed f.sMP. I don’t see it mentioned too much around here, but that poke is awesome. Pre-AE, you can use it in the same range where a s.HK would 2-hit, and you would be much safer on a whiff against jumpers. It’s especially good when you have full super. Now that it has a bigger hitbox, this is probably THE poke you wanna throw out.
cr. lp changes
cr. lp is already +5 on hit, so they’ll probably make it +6, I highly doubt that they’ll make it 2 frame startup. Makes cr. lp xx cr.lp a 4 frame link though doesn’t it? might as well chain it, at least if it’s chainable then you can’t just mash out 3 and then do lk RJ.
Wait won’t the invincibility of ex wall kick make it a better wake up option now? I know its fireball invincibility but i thought it might still help.

Not sure what you were impliying but if c.lp is +5 that makes c.lp c.lp a 2 frame (non plinkable) link. Which is about as hard as a plinkable one frame link. It’s tricky, notr vega c.lp link hard but certainly missable. The problem is you miss you die.
I hope they find a simple way to make cr.lp start a legit block string, whether it be making cr.lp chainable or decrease the recovery.

Right now c.lp is 3 frame startup +5 on hit. so it’s a 3 frame link. if in AE it’s +6 on hit then it’s a 4 frame link. I’m pretty sure that everyone here agrees that it’s a pretty easy link now, and if they make it easier why not just chain it? You can’t cancel into a special from a chain. If you’re getting easy 4 frame links and cancel into rj after its actually much easier than making cr. lp chainable and keeping it +5 on hit, at least then you have to link a cr.lk before the rj.
