What would have happened without MvC3?

I would have learned Spidey’s infinite sooner.

Real talk though, I can stomach some of the changes they did to the game as far as characters go… SOME… but they chose horrible decisions from cast to actual combat system. Hell a lot of the shit just irks of laziness. IE the combo system, my biggest problem with the game. How the hell can you give a character the ability to fly and have air mobility but they can’t do a combo that involves both jump loops and fly loops in the same combo without an assist? And how does being in a corner fuck up combos when you closer to them? (STORM PROBLEMS)

If it weren’t for Marvel 3 I wouldn’t be complaining about how my charaters and the overall system were watered down, stop playing Marvel 3 and go back to MVC2. So essentially nothing would change for me because in either scenario I’m playing MvC2.

If marvel 3 never happened… marvel 2 would still be a mainstay at majors… that’s the biggest difference. Mvc2’s final years at both Evo and SB saw huge sign ups and massive hype… which would have continued…

Now the most hype game at majors is usually ssf4 which sorta sux much of the fun out. xfactor and magic pixels just make mvc3 a game where the hype has a hard ceiling. Never give up moments are hard to care about in a game where your last character has just as good a chance to win as your whole team did from the word “FIGHT”.

I would have main with jill more to the point that I can actually do some damage. too bad they F’d her up in mvc3. but to be honest If mvc3 never happened then I would have not been more involved in fighting games, I would be still playing mvc2 offline on the ps2.

Man it would be dope to put together some ToL type shit for MVC2 and just in general try to get something going. I get the feeling it could come back in norcal but I’m way to new to really know and it’s probably just me being optimistic.

any game can come back. mvc2 can definitely come back.

People would really just need to stick shit out and deal with being a bit small for awhile, though it would have high chances of coming back vs say something like TVC Which makes me sad as fuck :frowning:

Had CF not died and the MVC2 scene was still going hard in NY, it probably would’ve turned into “Will J360 drop his guard break setup?”

nah, fuck main streams and evo, the game will never be THAT big again

just get someone who will be a DEDICATED MvC2 community streamer, and get the people who play this game still to actually come out to tourneys, make sure the side tourneys happen with streams.

then again, how many people are really hungry at this game? the problem with this game is that its legacy is so huge it hurts it, if you were to win EVO for mvc2, if justin/sanford/yipes isnt in it, people wont see you as legit

no MvC3? hello Capcom vs SNK

I’mma say it, if this was a few years ago I’d be inclined to agree, but now if the game gets off it’s ass again adn people start coming throguh anyone saying that needs to shut the fuck up.

im saying, who is hungry at mvc2? the people who are need to start showing up at tourneys and shit. I myself am going to final round

man, no sponsors are throwing money at MvC2. If people really love the game they need to show up and play

It’s a fucked up problem actually. Lurking in the ps3/xbl boards for marvel2 you see a hell of a lot of people grinding the crack daily… and with plenty of hype left. But usually when I see those people asked about playing it live or having a big RL tourney for it… they… “meh” or something similar. Least you are putting in work to keep it alive. Wish I could make it.

MvC2 players don’t care enough anymore. I had a lot of optimism regarding the MvC2: Victory documentary. Although there were a great deal of people (40-50+) who said they would contribute response videos for the documentary, unfortunately only FOUR people actually sent videos.

I was told that I would receive responses from players all over the world: Germany, Peru, The Phillippines, Mexico, Japan and more. There were also several US players who promised to send in video responses. It has now been almost a year since I uploaded the Victory video, and the vast majority of people have not responded. I put considerable time and effort into making those questions and distributing the video to as many MvC2 players as possible. It is disconcerting and very disappointing that so few people have contributed.

People often wonder why a MvC2 documentary was never made. Well there is your answer: The players who supposedly love the game don’t care enough. If people really wanted to contribute, if they really wanted a MvC2 documentary, then they would take 5-10 minutes and use any type of recording device (Cell phone, Camcorder, Digital Camera, etc) and make a video. It’s not rocket science. Either way, as much as it pains me to say this, I doubt the documentary will ever be made. People just don’t care enough. I refuse to put it extra work and care enough to compensate for all the people who don’t care at all.

If people won’t take 5-10 minutes to record a basic video for the documentary, they definitely won’t travel to go to MvC2 tournaments.

The world would have been spared another bad game.
