srk needs empty quotes
A deal breaker for all fighting games is if DOA5 came out. That aside, SFvTK isn’t very popular. Looks like crap. By crap I mean slow paced, 2D and it’s basically a wall bouncing combo fest with probably crap characters instead of the more popular ones.
I’m pretty sure Rufus, Bob, Zangief, Blanka, and pretty much anybody who’s overly bulky or hairy will make it into the game. Ono seems to have the classic Japanese “bear” fetish.
Lack of magic series chains, especially after Ono mentioned them.
We don’t need a snappier comeback, we just need fast walk speed agains. People are being given dashes to compensate but that does not address the problem slow walk speeds cause.
By very definition, aren’t 1 frame links the HARDEST combos possible???
In SSFIV I guess? They just require strict timing, but anyone can do them really. Now marvel/GG stuff is what I consider difficult.
nah, 1f links aren’t the hardest and in ssf4, how many 1f links are needed for bnbs? 1, 2 tops?
in mvc2, when sentinel does fly lk, refly lk, that is basically a triple just frame.
f.lk, unfly on 1-2 frames after hit stun, refly 1-2 frames after unfly, any direction+lk within 1-2 frames. Tons of characters in mvc2 have those 1 frame combo’s or situations that occur. Strider can create unblockables with super freeze as long as projectiles are 1 frame away from hitting the opponent.
so to get a 2 hit combo that is rather basic for sentinel, its 3 just frames.
The strider example is an example of 1frame cancels which can be harder than 1f links. With links, you always know the timing. With 1f cancels, they can be done just about anywhere given the character being played. Strider can create TONS of 1f unblockable super freeze tricks off his projectiles so his 1f tricks are a variable where as in ssf4, those are constants.
The game needs more Guard Crush.
The roster. Also I probably won’t get the game if it’s just a rehash of SSF4 with Tekken characters. Bleh.
Ahh, finally.
This this this this this. Use the graphics engine all you want, but I want new mechanics. Unlike SSF4, they need to throw caution to the wind and deliberately make the game balls-to-the-wall offensive.
I read somewhere that they were using the same game engine, too, not just the same graphic engine.
The problem is what Capcom considers ‘offensive’, as evidenced by the difference between SF4 and SSF4, is having strong characters that turtle just as much as everyone else during footsies and zoning but can pressure the fuck out of you with ridiculous mixups once they get a knockdown. While crouch tech and backdash invincibility stay in the game.
Oh, my GOD. You went for the okey-doke. Have some pride, man: hold out for some Popeyes.
3 pages, and I’m still in before “Being made/published by Capcom”?
after seeing sf4 and ssf4 that isnt a deal breaker for many
as long as ono is related… shrug
also so far i feel that more than probable TxSF would be the superior one in every aspect compared to SFxT
true
Isn’t this a bad thread title? Wouldn’t something like “what current fighting game designs do you fear?” be more appropriate?
i’d argue about the inherit inability to compare the two
but that would just be me being biased and liking say, the worst 2D fighter ever made, whatever you want to call it, more than any 3D fighter
i admit that
Bob and Rufus top tier team
