against a “good” Yun player I find the best way is to parry
^ agreed. Go for the parry, then lp. shoryu. Those dive kicks are easy to parry if your oppenent is easily predictable and throws out the same dive kicks more than once. Watch for the empty jump though, they’ll do that to mix you up and you’ll eat comboXX Genei-JinX Big DAMAGE!
No “good” Yun player is easily predictable.
True enough, but most of them can be seen through if they rely on the Dive kick.
Most Yun/Yang players will dive kick right after knockdowns to get you blocking right off the bat, and then they go for command throws or to other moves. Dive kicks are easy for Ken to punish, you just have to know how to read your opponent and assume when they are going to dive kick and have the appropriate counter at hand.
I like to jump back roundhouse sometimes in these situations.
i like to parry the twin’s divekicks. i used to ahve so much trouble parrying it, and my friend would abuse the dive kick agains tme with yun and then go into his super and rape me. i kept playing against his yun and yang and now, each time i parry his divekicks i punish him :). but then again i use chun li, so i don’t mind gettign hit with 1 dive kick and parry 4 or 5 of them and hitting them with a close HK then make him guess if im going to hit confiirm c.mk xx sa2 or throw him. but he doesn’t play yun anymore against me because i took away his whole game by being able to aprry dive kicks!
